| Why is Dori bleeding when she is fixed? Dori is 3 & has been fixed since before a year old. She is bleeding from around her "pee pee". I don't know what it is. I took her to a new groomer & thought she may have been nicked but it looks more suspicious. I did call the groomer & she said she was not aware of nicking her. She doesn't mess with it at all but I tried to clean it with peroxide. This a.m. she was shaking a bit & has refused her treats off & on this weekend & today. Should I be concerned? Could she be bleeding for any other reason besides a cut? (I didn't see one but it could be under her hair.) Thank you for any help!! |

| Yes, she could be bleeding for another reason. She may have a uti or something more serious. I would get her into the vet asap.

| Bladder stones is another possibility.

| WOW! Thanks for such quick replies! I really don't know much about dogs or yorkies. This is my first dog & really appreciate any help. I will take her to the vet tomorrow. My hubby totally worries so much about her & wants to take her to vet for everything & I tend to wait things out & not take her in. It is good for me to hear your advice. Keep it coming! |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I am glad you are taking her to the vet tomorrow. If it is a UTI or stones that is very painful. Since you are new to yorkies you will find it is better to be safe than sorry and take them in when they are having symptoms or not acting themselves. Good luck and please keep us posted.

| Vet immediately! Hoping it's just something with her bladder. It could be other things though. Not something that should wait.

| I agree the only advice to take is -- take her to the vet! Make sure they know she is spayed and bleeding from there. Could be something simple, but there are also some pretty scary differentials so don't delay!

| So when I got up this morning I called the vet immediately & they said that since there was not blood on her pee pad (she always uses, almost never goes outside) that there was no way that it could be coming from the inside of the "pee pee". The blood was brown & old looking so they said that it was a nick from the groomer. She told me to not clean her with peroxide anymore because it could hurt her where she is cut. I never knew that Yorkies could have so many urinary problems. I will definitely know what to look for in the future. Thanks. Thanks for all your concern. She has been acting normal all day. She has been eating & drinking normally. (She also showed her spitefulness by leaving a little present for her "grammy & pappy" today when they left her for an hour when she thought they should be playing with her. LOL) She definitely has a mind of her own. |

| Wow! That isn't at all as what we imagined. I'm so glad your lil girl is ok. I'm sure you all are terribly relieved as well, aren't you?

| We are so glad. It just breaks our hearts when she is not feeling good. I love her hair cut but this definitely makes me think twice about taking her back there. Esp since it was my first time at this place. I know accidents can happen but... I took her there because I know a girl that use to work there & she just sang their praises. Dori use to puke a lot (it was terrible) when I fed her eukanuba but she does much better now that I give her an organic yorkie food from a natural dog food store. She likes it better too. I thought eukanuba was suppose to be such high quality. Our babies are so fragile. |

Thank you for updating us about Maggie. She's very cute. I was hoping you would let us know how she was. It sounded so much worse than what the situation actually was. I'm so glad she's doing well.
