I second Capt Noonie -- the Kiss E collar is fabulous and Bo (Mom to Hot Rod) does a very professional job. We have the one with the band-aids on it and it is so cute! Here are pics of Barney wearing his- so much less stressful on the dogs with this soft e collar and far more attractive! cone2.jpg Cone.jpg

| Hey, my little Felix had Bladder surgery on Wednesday. Wednesday morning at about 2am he started trying to go poo but couldn't. He just kept needing back outside and looked like he was trying to poo. About 6am he started kind of belching and elongating his kneck, it sounded a little like a bark, but it was not his normal bark. Anyway, I was at the vets office when they opened at 8, hoping someone could help him. I thought he might be really constipated.........I didn't know what to do. Anyway, the vet came in and determined he had bladder stones and he had surgery immediately. He was suppose to come home today, but they want to keep an eye on him. I thought I would post the symptoms, in case they are useful. I had no idea what was wrong, he is 5 and very healthy and active. I went and visited him today. I miss him so much and can't wait for him to come home. The vet said that a bladder can burst in 12-20 hours after blocked, so it is very serious once your doggy has any signs like I mentioned to get him to the ER. They told me his bladder was so large it turned purple, yet it had only started at 2am, and in the vet at 8am. They said we almost lost him, I feel so incredibly lucky. One of the stones was blocking his urethra (sp). I actually looked up this website at 4am on Wednesday to see what to do with a constipated doggy. Little did I know that much bigger problems were looming. They actually test the stones to determine which type of food is best to help reduce the risk in the future. |

| Paris: Always in my ♥ Donating YT Member | Paris had bladder stones removed 9/2009. They were pea sized and I noticed red in his urine. His surgery was $750. I work, so I had to leave him home but he slept most of the day anyway and I had a neighbor come over once a day to check on him. Also my mom came over some too. He recovered quickly and very well. He takes Palatech cranberry granules with his food to keep them from reforming. I buy it on ebay much cheaper than from the vet. |
