My little Mari got Geardia just two weeks after I got her this summer from a stagnant type water on a sandbar on the river. It took about a week for it to kick in but she went totally lethargic, had to be on iv for two days and had about a 30% survival. She was 4 mos and only 1.3 lb!! But she made it like a little trooper but it did take my Ginger 15 years old. They both got sick a day apart. It's a NASTY bug and you would probably know if your dog got it. We thought we were taking them for a little warm swim (Mari's first swim) but they both took in a little (wave action) and drank some accidently. I learned a very BIG lesson. Not only did I loose my wonderful Ginger but the $$$ vet bill was a thousand dollars!!! We have a houseboat and have been doing this for years but this was a new one for me.

OMG! That is a terrible story! I'm so sorry! How sad

Pinot is acting so totally normal which is what leads me to believe she doesn't have giardia plus her poops are normal now (except soft which I mentioned earlier). If anything takes a turn, however, I will take her right back to the vet.

Butterfly - were the symptoms in your little ones just lethargy (and likely diarrhea)?
