| Help, new puppy won't eat. Hi, we had our puppy on 11-1-05. She just had 1 and seemed all was fine. Then I noticed late last night the puppy was not eating. I got her latched on and she seemed to do fine. Tried again all night long and couldn't get her to eat again. Took her to the vet first thing this a.m. The vet said she didn't seem to have the sucking response. So I've been feeding her with a syringe. The vet is not sure she will make it. We are all heartbroken, any suggestions? |

| You might get better advise from a breeder if you posted this in the breeder section. I would just keep feeding her with the syringe. Good luck Hopefully she will make it.

| I am sure you will get good advice from the breeders. Did the momma's milk come in? My Shelby had to be syringe fed for the first 8 days, she was an only child too. The breeder fed her every 2 hours but kept her with her mom. On the 8th day Shelby got hungry b/c breeder didn't get to her on time and she latched on to Momma and the milk dropped. good luck! |
