| After spay my yorkie pees alot Just have a quick question about Kinder my yorkie. Hope I am in the correct post. Anyways I had her spayed at 6 months old on Oct. 7th Thursday and brought her home Oct. 8th Friday. She seemed to be fine, eats good, playful, and very alert. I have her trained to go potty on pee pads and I noticed she had been going numerous times. She also would squat and try to pee and nothing comes out. She would go all over the kitchen and I would find a few pee drops. I thought it might be because of the anesthesia and meds they give. I also figured this may be a bladder infection; poor baby I know how I felt when I had one. She gets a pain pill twice a day which I am done with tonight. On Saturday Oct. 9th I contacted my vet and he said she probably got alittle irritation of the bladder from the spay and it will be gone in a couple days. Today the 11th I called and my vet gave her Clavamox to take twice a day. Is this normal or has anyone else had this problem after a spay? I am a worried mom ; I never had this happen to Keally my past yorkie. Thanks for taking the time reading my post. Sue |

| Yes, very normal. UTIs are very common post spay as is bladder irritation. No worries.

| Today she is doing much better. The Clavamox drops twice a day really helped. I felt awful when she came home from being spayed and then have to get this UTI. My little Kinder has been such a happy baby through this it really makes you feel so sad for them. Anyways she will be on the drops for a few more days and hopefully it doesn't come back. Thanks for inquiring ; it is nice to know YT has lots of wonderful yorkie lovers on this site. |
