I guess its better to run the test to eliminate it from the possibilities.

I don't think I'm going to get much done around the house today, unless I can accomplish it with a yorkie in one arm. I guess we'll just have to be couch potatoes. Actually, laying on a couch with a yorkie on my stomach, watching tv, sounds like a wonderful way to spend the day.

I'm glad Pippin is getting better. I agree, a day on the couch with a yorkie in your lap sounds heavenly! I'm doing pretty much the same thing with Toby today so he will stay off his feet so his LP leg continues to get better.

I'm glad he's doing better and able to eat. It's nice you are resting some, too.

How do you keep Toby from not being active? Isn't the recovery months?

Valerie, I am so glad that Pippin is doing well. I live in the Bay Area, in Redwood City. Where are you? I hope that you both get to rest together and he gets stronger every day. Hugs.

I'm in Modesto. It's about an hour and a half inland (if the traffic is good). I wish we lived near the coast.

We got the lab results back yesterday. There is no cancer, and it isn't Addisons. It looks like IBD. It's not curable, but with diet and medication it should be manageable. I do thank my lucky stars. It could be a lot worse.

We're going to stick with the home cooked turkey and oatmeal. I always thought home cooking would be a pain in the neck, but I make a batch on the weekend, put them in baggies, into the freezer, and he's set for the week. Ally173 has been great about sharing her experiences with IBD. It helps having someone who has been there.

Today is better than yesterday, and I hope tomorrow will be better than today. : )

Prayers to you and Pippin! I know what you mean about mean people who don't understand. I love my babies and would do anything for them. God Bless you and Pippin.

That's good news! I know IBD isn't an easy diagnosis, but at least now you have a direction to go in to keep Pippin feeling good. Sending big hugs for him.

The only time I have done home cooking is when I have had a really sick pup that there was no rx diet for. I do know people who home cook. The only thing I have to offer is that if you continue to do home cooking, you do a consult with a nutritionist. There are supplements that must be added. I know that some people on YT do this, and some go with nutritionists who are not certified which is entirely up to the indidual. Personally, I only use board certified vet nutritionists. There is one at Texas A& M and there are others.

Couldn't agree more about consulting a nutritionist! Otherwise, an unbalanced diet can be very dangerous.
