| Charm ate foam ear plugs My husband whom I'm really upset with right now uses these green foam ear plugs at night to sleep. He's a light sleeper and can't sleep when their is any noise. He goes to bed at 8:30 because he gets up at 4:30 to go to work and I stay up a lot later. Last week I got really ticked off at him when I found 2 ears plugs in the bed when I was changing the sheets. So I talked to him about how one of the pups could get a hold one of them and choke on it or eat it and it could get really sick if they swallowed it. Every morning he take the puppies out of their crates when he gets up, takes them potty and get them a drink of water puts them in bed with me me.This morning I woke to Charm making a heaving sounds and I could tell she was going to be sick and she was. She's just a little thing just under 3 lbs so I still give her nutracal before bed and in the morning when she gets up. She only vomited white foam so I thought it was just because stomach was empty. So got up and fed everyone. she didn't eat much but seemed fine. Later that afternoon she started shaking. I remembered reading on YT that could mean they are in pain. I picked her up and she vomited her breakfast kibble until all she had was the dry heaves. I got on the phone to the vets office and had to hang up when she started making gagging noises like she was choking and she threw up a green ear plug! When I went to get a tissue she ran over and to the pee pad and pooped out another plug. My poor little baby. Within minutes she started acting like she is feeling better. I called my vet He said to watch her how she acting and if their looks like any problem bring her right in. He also told me to feed her a bland diet tonight and make sure she's drinking and to watch her poop. The doctor said it was soft that it was good they came out. I'm still shaking and thank goodness she's acting like nothing every happened. Her daddy is in the dog house. |

| Oh poor little charm! I'm glad she gave the foam plugs back. I've gotten to the point that if they get into something they shouldn't, I just induce vomiting and get it back right away. I make sure my hydrogen peroxide is always fresh and bubbly!

| Poor thing! Glad everything is ok. I actually saw on an episode of My Dog Ate What? on the Nat Geo channel a dog who ate earplugs and it turned out fine. I have earplugs on my nightstand, so this is definitely a lesson for me.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | How scary - good to know Charm is okay now though! I feel your anger....dh and I have had the very same conversation about those stupid foam earplugs. I've found them several times in the bed, on the floor, just laying around. I at first tried nicely explaining the dangers, second time I was a little less nice, third time - nice went out the window The final straw was when I found one in Louis' poo.....dh did not like fresh poo presented within inches of his eyes, so that he might witness these dogs do indeed swallow the dang earplugs!! You would think that was enough...but...NO A few days later....again...in Louis' poo. I solved the problem this time though! Every pair of earplugs dh owned (he had only 4 sets left) I collected and threw in the garbage. After being unable to sleep that night bc "I couldn't find my earplugs anywhere", I told him why He replaced the earplugs with the type that has the cording between them -- they are easier to keep track of now. So far, I haven't found any earplugs where they shouldn't be.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | I'm the one who's usually in the dog house since it's always my stuff that gets chewed. My most recent loss was a $10 bill the dogs stole out of my purse. I managed to get part of it back, but I'm still waiting for change

| I can probably top all of you. My foster, Isabella, ate half of my Armani's LV collar! And I mean ATE it! It was a few days after chewing on Cody's Coach collar....and I should have had enough sense to remove all collars after that incident....but no, I let it happen. Of course I removed everyone's collars after that one...day late and quite a few dollars short.

| Ha! You're right, showing the DHs stuff and telling them about it doesn't work! I planned a scenario when my DH's earplugs were found by me on the floor... well you know what goes through Mommie's worried mind.... Xrays, surgery, cost of surgery, meds, giving the meds, multiple vet appointments, travel time and expenses... so in an attempt to avoid all this, I pretended the pups ate the earplugs and needed surgery. You know, running through the house like I'm getting everything and everybody ready to go to the vets, mumbling audibly under my breath about 2 or more surgeries required on 2 or more pups to find those darn earplugs....till I got to the door and hollered 'False Alarm'... Well he got mad, but I told him if he didn't listen and be more careful in the future this is exactly what would happen... but for real! I think I finally got through to him...

| Depending on the size of the dog this could actually cause the dog to get the earplug lodged in the throat when trying to vomit it back up and cause the dog to choke to death on the earplug. I would recommend taking the dog to a vet and letting them induce vomiting as they have the tools to remove the plug if it were to get lodged on it's way back up. |
