| Poppy's not well, help! Ugh i am so upset. When i went away i left my brother strict instructions on what to feed Poppy and the things NOT to do and things he can do. I showed him the right leads to use and where her harness was kept and where her food was kept and wrote it all down on the notice board in the kitchen. I found out Poppy was not eating while i was away and i was so worried, when i got home yesterday it turned out my brother had been feeding Poppy adult pedigree wet food and this is hy she wasnt eating it... because it wasnt her food!! I asked why he didnt feed her the wainrights puppy food i told him to use and that i had wrote it on the bored and he just kinda said he was sorry and didnt know (but he did becuase i had told him) so i am kind of annoyed, i dont want to say anything to him tho becuase he looked after poppy while i was away which was very kind of him so i let it go. I had bought this pedigree food before i bought Poppy and had looked into what to get her not seeing it was for adults until i got it home. So it was put out the way untill she was old enough to be on adult food. She didnt like this adult pedigree food so she wasnt eating it understandbly, so he started feeding her bits of his food which i found out yesterday. Again I wasnt happy about it but i knew he had tried his best (i think). He is 27 tho i thought he would have known a little better but i didnt want to seem ungreatful because he looked after poppy all week while we where away. When we came home i noticed her tummy was really fat like a little ball, I didnt take much notice and thought she must have put on weight. My brother said he dont see how she would have put on weight as she aint hardly eaten much all week. Again i didnt think much of it i was just glad i was home to take care of her. She didnt eat much of her dog food last night i just thought it was because she wanted human food so didnt take much notice. This morning at 8.15am she did a poop and it was VERY runny and dark in colour. I took her to my nans house and about an hour later at 9am she was sick it was all a brown colour, runny and smelt like poop. I cleaned it up and then about 9.15am she did another runny poop that had some dark and lights bits in it, it was harder than the first poop she did, it was in a poop shape but still very soft. I decided to take her home because i was worried about her and in the 2min car ride home she was either sick or pooped in her car seat it was a light brown in colour and runny again. I am sooo worried about her, i have no idea what shes been getting up to while i was away, if my brother has made sure she didnt eat the cat food etc. I am so worried. I tried to take her for a little walk and maybe get some fresh air into her but she didnt want to go for a walk and ''put the breaks on'' when we went outside. so i picked her up and brough her in. She is home now and had had a little play with her toys and is now alseep. The other thing that i did tell my brother off about is that he didnt use her harness for walking her he used her collar. Now i showed him where her harness was and told him not to use her collar which makes me think did he even listen to a word i said before i went away. I have called the vet and they said to keep an eye on her and if she gets worse to bring her in. Ugh i am so upset i wish i had never left her. My brother is a member of my family i thought he would have known better really, maybe i am just over reacting i dunno guess i am just upset. She has not been brushed while i was away either . Anyone have any ideas how to make my Poppy get back to normal, is this anything to really worry about. Its 10.30am now and she aint been sick or pooped in an hour now. Ugh

| I'm so sorry about Poppy. If her tummy settles down quickly, you can probably just resume her normal food routine. If not, you may want to try boiling some chicken and giving her some chicken & rice with a little broth on the rice for flavoring. It will be kind to an upset tummy. I wish you the best, but I wouldn't leave her with him again.

| I'm sorry little Poppy is sick. If she keeps having runny poops and throwing up what smells like poop, you need to get her to the vet for an obstructive series. She may have eaten something she is unable to digest and pass. Please keep us updated.

| I'm sorry your brother did that. I actually have a hard time to deal with people that try to feed my dog or treat her in a way I don't agree with, and do I do call them on it right on the spot. In addition to what all have suggested, I would kindly ask your brother what exactly he was giving her out of his plate, to ensure he did not poison her and that she has only an upset stomach other than be really sick. Poppy's Mamma ♥ Donating Member | I would be totally pissed if I were you. My BFs parents took care of my Poppy while we were away and they hadnt cleaned her eyes at all in those 2 weeks! I came home and she had eye pancakes I know how you feel because I was so angry when I saw the state of her little eyes, but it was a very kind thing they did looking after her while I was away so I didnt mention it.. I just cleaned them myself. I would ask your brother to tell you EXACTLY what he has been feeding her when you were away, you need to know if anything could have poisoned her. It could well be the change of food which has upset her stomach so keep an eye on her and if it dosnt get any better I would take her to a vet.

| Thank you everyone. Poppy has not been sick since this morning and has been running around all day playing with her toys so i think she seems ok. I will keep an eye on when she nexts poops tho. She has not eaten anything today so but there is food there if she wants it... WAIT she is picking at it now hehe! My brother is around ours right now to see if Poppy was ok he was worried when he heard she wasnt well, i feel guilty because he feels terrible and in a way he should because he didnt listen to my instructions, lesson learnt tho i wont be leaving her with him again. I felt a bad mummy for not making she was looked after right when i was away so i went and bought her a new bed today, its so soft and had fur inside for her to snuggle up too. I also bought her some new shampoo and some toys which shes now playing with on the livingroom carpet. Also i put a top knot in her hair today for the first time and she dont seem to mind it being there. She looks soooo cute i love it. All her hair wont fit into it but as long as she gets used to it being up there lol. Also i had to clean her bottom today because it has not been cleaned while we was away on holiday and had poop stuck to her fur covering her little bum, i had to cut it out her little bum was all red. Ugh so glad to be home. Thanks for all your advice, if she dont eat much food i will boil some chicken and rice and see if that helps settle her, thanks goodness she aint been sick in over 8 hours now. Aw rachel i know how you feel about the eye thing too i had to clean poppys eyes too and give her a brush. I dont think my brother is the right person to be looking after poppy as much as he loves her he just dont understand her needs. Thanks everyone xxxx

Donating Senior Yorkie Talker | This is exactly why I won't let any of the young men in my family babysit Tallulah when she comes home. My nephew, who is 100percent sweetheart has already offered but he has no concept of how delicate these little babies are. I know he would never intend harm, but he would be careless nonetheless. |

| This sounds exactly like something my brother would do, they don't have small dogs, I bet he doesn't even have any children, they don't know what they are doing even if you tell them, next time instead of writing it out set out the right equipment show him how to use it and call and ask specifically what is going on or even remind him throughout the day. He probably really is sorry b/c he was clueless and was trying to help. |

| Gordon Bennett!!! What was your brother thinking! (Obviously he wasn't thinking!) Some mothers do have them! So glad that Poppy seems to be recovering. And naturally you are spoiling her more for feeling guilty about leaving her with your brother. Next time you are going on vacation, make a sidetrip to the USA and leave Poppy with me I promise I'll take good care of her
