I guess I am getting old. As it is, pistol cleaning day now lasts for 6 hours. When I shoot, I still clean the Marine Corps way, 3 days in a row to get all of the fouling out.

His sister can get married anytime, but hunting season for black powder, bows, and Long guns does not come that often!

I have a nice size head in my officer on a shelf that marge does not have to look at as she passes by in the hallway. It has some 4" tusks and some real nice cutters. Bleached it white, and have all of the teeth in it. I would say from the top of the skull to the tip of the snout it is about 16".

I'm so glad to hear Carlo's doing better!

He seems even better today. Those Ulcer pills are really working well. He is back to his old self. He even ran around the yard which he had not done in a week. Maxine then brought him back to reality with a few barks and the Yorkie stare. He ran to his bed.

I am really glad to hear that Carlo is doing so much better. He is a real trooper. I know you have great love and concern for him. You have done an outstanding job caring for him.

I have never been hog hunting but I am about ready to declare war on the coyotes around here. All of our outside feral cats have been disappearing and we suspect the coyotes have been getting them. It makes me sad.

Thank you for the nice words. No doubt, that is from the Coyotes. Get a Varmiont hunting license and a nice 25.06 or .223. As long as their is a large source of food for them, they will not be going anyplace. What large town are you near?

Well, I have to keep reminding my husband each year that he does not need a new rifle or pistol or some kind of firearm. Do you know what he did this year to get around that? I guess he thinks I don't have my thinking cap on! :rolleyes: A friend of his couldn't afford his deer lease payment for the year, so my dh offered to buy one of his pistols. Well, this is only a temporary deal, of course........right! :rolleyes: The dh told me that this deer buddy is going to buy it back when he can afford to. Right! :rolleyes: So, the dh now has another gun added to his collection. I would call that a "sneaky" way of doing it!!:rolleyes: There are TONS of wild hogs on his deer lease. They are SO destructive. Each year, there is a ton of repair work for each hunter. Where does your friend hunt in Texas? My dh hunts near Brownwood.

Again, I am glad Carlo is doing well and doesn't have to see the vet again until 2 more months. WAY TO GO TROOPER CARLO!!

Sounds like you might need to find a friend who need to temporarily sell you a yorkie. :D

They sure can do a ton of damage rooting etc. I hunt down in Corsacana, TX. I call it the Hog Capital of the World. They even have their own bars and Dinners.

I beleive the word I would use for your husband is creative. Never met him, but like him already!

We live about 55 miles northwest of Beaumont. We have woods on two sides of our 6 acres. The Big Thicket National Preserve is all around here. People have been spotting cougars lately too. We can hear the coyotes in the woods. At one time we had lots of cats we would put food out for but now we only see two. My husband loved having the cats around because they really helped with the snake problem we had when we moved here about 9 1/2 years ago. One of the cats had been with us for 9 years, after someone dropped her off. She was a wild thing but eventually she started letting us pet her. She has come up missing too along with another half dozen cats.

Here is a picture I took of what is think is a young coyote. I thought is was a fox but my husband said it was a coyote. I always put food out on the sidewalk for the cats and I looked out my kitchen window and saw this pretty thing eating. I am a critter lover and I enjoy standing by the window and watching the different critters eat. At times we would have raccoons, possums and skunks all coming up to eat. I can do without the skunks. It drives the dogs nuts when they smell them.

You live in God's Country. I know I will never be able to get my wife to move out to the real country, but I will keep on trying. Great picture. I first thought it was a Fox. Small Coyote and young.

Listen to this!........My dh (boyfriend at the time) and I dated for 4 years. Of course, he was head over heels for me (:D) and asked me to marry him so many times that I lost count. When I finally gave in, I suggested a date of sometime in January, I think it was. He told me that it was not a good weekend because it was CLOSING WEEKEND OF DEER SEASON!!!. So I made him wait until June!! :D MEN!!:rolleyes:

Deer Season or a Wedding.... Not really a tough choice for a guy. You have 52 weeks a year to get married, and deer season is usually one a month or two.

I am just seeing your thread, and read the whole thing through. I am so relieved that Carlo is ok, and getting back to normal. Poor guy, have ulcers myself and can throughly empathize with him feeling yucky.
What a relief for you and your family, that not-knowing-what-the-heck-is-going-on feeling....just stinks.

My wonderful husband married me on the opening Friday of dove season last year. Although our ceremony was at 4- WELL before dusk! That's what I call true love! (and for those of you picturing this, NO, there was NO camo in or at our wedding! lol!

He is even better today. Felt safe enough to take him for a walk. We only went 1/2 mile as I did not want to over due it, but he has come back for sure. Seems to be in no pain, eating, snoring, chewing....Thanks for the good thoughts.

Carlo will turn 11 in Dec. He is 2 1/2 years younger than Maxine, and many years younger than me.

Hopefully he will have many more years of quality life. My oldest girl is 14 and she is the love of my life.
