We just got home. It was a long day, but they worked Carlo into the Radiology schedule for an Ultrasound and X-Ray, as well as Blood, and an exam.

We have cause to celebrate. Carlo has an Ulcer forming, and the Specialist believes it was causes by the new drug Paladdia which is a maintanence drug for Mast Cell Cancer. We have stopped the Paladdia, and he will contine on with Prednisone, Pepcid AC and until the Ulcer is gone, a drug called Carafate. The Oncologist realizes like me, we want a good quality of life for Carlo. No use in having a new drug possible kill him. As far as the pain and vomiting, he believes Carlo has some sort of stomach Virus and was just sensitive, and that he never really likes to be touched and pushed in that spot. He is good today. I can't thank you enough for all of the good thoughts and lkind words.

I also learned that you can always rely on the interpretation of a 2 dimensional X-Ray at qq pm at night from a non specialist. While the Vet meant well, she really has us worried, but we would have worred anyway. There is no new Cancer growth. Carlo is already making out his Christmas List. Maxine must know he is ok, as he walked near her food bowl and she let him know to get away from it, fast.

Once you dealt with cancer even the smallest pimple looks terrifying and seeing a loved one in pain gives you worries and sleepless nights. Now it's time to relax.

That is great news. Sorry you had to endure such a long day but it sounds like it was worth all the traffic you possibly had to sit in!

Carlo polished off all of his food tonight, and then got a nice new Nylabone (Hard) that he is seriously working on. He loves chewing. I was afraid he was going to start chewing on the Car's interior on the ride back as he had nothing to eat all day. Only in the Chicago area does it take 1 hour and 50 minutes to drive 39 miles. We made good time in rush hour.

I threw out the remaining Paladdia pills....Carlo took 3 a day, 3 days a week. A bottle of 30 of those pills cost $650 because they are new to the marketplace. I believe Carlo will want designer cloths now that there will be extra money available. He has already cost me a new harley, so I do believe I will reward my self with something that can fit in your hand, weighs around 38 ounces, can have a hard chrome finish, and can be legally carried in most states. Now I have to convince the boss why I really really need another one.

I'm happy to hear that Carlo is doing OK. Cancer is a scarey thing no matter what species has it.

Every day we have with him is a great day. When I heard Ulcer, I was actually happy, and then realized that is dangerous in its own right, but not as bad as the cancer coming back. Sometimes the cure is worse than the disease. Glad he is now off the Paladdia and the Ulcer will get better. HE is now napping on his bed and snoring away.

So glad to hear Carlo is back home and doing better. He is such a special boy. I know dad will get some rest tonight!
