| ![]() Rosie is 9 weeks old, she's been having diarrhea since last night. She has become lethargic and much less responsive. Assuming she's dehydrated, should I try cutting her water with some unflavored pedialyte? Has anyone tried this before? What else can I do? ![]() |

| ![]() She is very young and at extreme risk of dehydration. She needs to see a vet immediately.

| ![]() Have you made an appointment yet? She needs to get in ASAP. Ask your vet what you can be doing in the meantime.

| ![]() You can try syringing him pedialyte. Its my opinion that he is beyond that though and needs to be on an Iv. Little pups go down quick and if he is already unresponsive he is going down. All vets will take emergency appointments and this is an emergency

| ![]() You could give pedialyte, but since her GI system isn't doing well, anything by mouth could potentially make her nauseous. If that happens and she starts to throw up, then she will be in bigger trouble. So I can't recommend that you do it without vet supervision. Because she is so young (and probably really tiny), has had diarrhea for over twelve hours, and is lethargic, this may be quite serious if not taken care of asap.

Please tell me that you are getting her to the vet NOW!!! I would be at the vet's already, not waiting for responses on here! If you were having a heart attack, would you expect your family to be on the computer looking for help instead of getting you to the ER?????? There are some instances where you can have the luxury of waiting for forum members advice on treatment. This is not one of them.
