I really hope Max is OK. I feel so bad that the breeder was so unsupportive and cruel. She could have never dealt with this before but she should atleast be supportive and caring until she knows what is wrong with one of her pups. She obviously thought that you were a good enough Mama 5 days ago to have one of her puppies, yet now she thinks you haven't been watching him and he hit his head or something. I think you are handling it better than I would, I'm part Italian and I would've been all over her!! Take care and I hope the result of the test are negative and he gets better soon! Hugs & Licks! |
Oh yeah...we have a horrible problem with mosquitoes here....and many pups are coming up heartworm positive. It used to be not as common in the yorkies...but this past year or so we have had so many with heartworms. |
Just seeing this Karen. I will be praying for your little guy!! |
My vet started mine on heart worm preventative at 10-14 weeks. It could be a regional thing because the South is mosquito heaven compared to California. |
I've been thinking about you since I first read your post. I really hope you get good news today and that your baby is better very soon. |
Thinking of you this morning . . .I hope your night was restful . . .Hoping for good news today . . . |
I doubt the breeder is just now finding out something is wrong with him Im sure he exhibited symptoms with her and she knowingly sold you a sick pup |
I'm just checking in, Karen. I hope you're feeling better and got some rest last night. Give Cooper and Max huggins for me. |
Thanks everyone. I call at 9am for results. |
Hope you receive good news today Karen. This must be incredibly difficult. |
Praying for good answers! Hugs. |
Found it: or part anyway... file wouldn't open... Copied & Pasted from the link above. Written by Dr. Center: Additional Information; *It is no longer recommended to fast a dog for 12 hours before first collection or meal. The same size and type of meal that the dog normally eats is what should be used for the meal. *Test puppies at 16 weeks and again at 6 months. Dogs > 4 years of age can have other liver problems that will affect the Bile Acid test. *If the dog is stuffed or if the dog is frightened the test result can possibly be skewed. *The draw can be done one day pre feeding, then the dog can be taken home and fed and another draw done 2 hours post-feeding. It is not imperative it be done the same day. __________________ |
