Just got back from the Vet and he ask if we had fed her anything spicy or unusual while on our trip and my husband fed her some roast beef and he thinks that has made her sick. He said to never, ever feed them Pork or Beef, which I already knew but hubby didn't think beef would hurt her. The vet said to give her chicken only if we wanted to feed her from the table. I am quite sure that the roast beef is what did it! These pups have sensitive tummies! I am very strict about feeding only dog food to my kids and even then, once in a while I will have one with an episode of pancreatitis. Normally, though, pancreatitis is set off by table foods!

Unless this became a frequent occurence I would not be too concerned! Sounds like your vet is right on target.

Another thing I would advise you to watch is her gums. These little ones can dehydrate quickly when they have diarrhea and/or vomiting. Just watching their intake sometimes does not give a total picture. Their gums when they are well hydrated should be wet to touch...if they become dry and sticky to touch, then they need to be seen by a vet asap. Just lift her upper lip and lightly touch her gums to check them. Hope this helps! And..hope she is well soon!

How is Digger doing today?

Mia is doing so much better... She wanted something to eat last night and she is drinking regularly. She hasn't had a loose stool since yesterday morning. I am so relieved! Thanks to eveyone for all the good advice and support.. I knew I loved her, but until they get this sick you don't know truely how much. Is it ok to give her boiled chicken and rice until we know everything is ok? She is starving!
