| Tumor or wart in ear. I found what looks like a wart or tumor in Noel's ear. I hate to describe it like this, but it looks just like a very red nipple. Shape, texture and all. I did some googling and the Papalamas virus wart came up. I'm probably spelling it wrong. When I first saw it, it was black, but when I cleaned it a round blackish hard thing came off so I'm thinking it was a scab. Now it's just clean, and very red in color but does not seem to hurt her, but she does not like me playing with it. I cleaned it and put neosporin on it. I'm going to try and get an appointment with my vet tomorrow. I only use one vet at the office and I'm not sure if he's in tomorrow, but will get an appointment sometime this week to have it looked at. Any input on what you guys think. I'm very worried. I lost my Newman to a weird cancer in his foot pad so any bump sends me in a panic. Thanks. Elaine |

| It is probably just a wart but she should be seen by a vet to rule out anything more serious. |

| I agree probably a wart type thing, but I sure understand your concern after losing your other baby! I sure hope everything turns out ok. Please try not to worry yourself so much tonight.

| Does not sound like a wart to me. The papilloma virus produces warts that look like cauliflower. What you described sounds almost like a comedone (blackhead) although I have never seen it in an ear. Just get her seen when you can. It probably is nothing really serious.

| Thank You. I wanted to thank everyon that responded. Noel was seen by our vet yesterday and it is something called a Histiocytoma, which in lay man's terms is a beign tumor. He said it should regress by itself so we are going to watch and see. I have to bring her back in four weeks. She seems fine and does not seem to even notice it. Thank God it was not cancer. After losing one to a tumor in his foot pad, then the following year our other to a brain abnormalty, the thought of a third would have absolutely destroyed me. Thanks again so much. Elaine |

| I don't want to scare you but I just took my dog in Monday for what they too thought was that wart. My dog was fine with it but I noticed it. My doctor to be safe biopsied it and he is having surgery tomorrow to remove it as there are abnormal cell, they are thinking cancer but not sure type etc. I am scared to death but so thankful I had it biopsied. If you did not please think about having it done. |
