| Ugh....Possible Giardia? I'm hoping that Fiona doesn't have Giardia right now =( She has been having accidents for the past 2 nights, and I'm thinking I should call the vet tomorrow. Her stools aren't that loose, but I did notice this morning that there was a tint of blood in it, and we just tried giving her a treat, and she didn't want it. She isn't vomitting or anything, what do you think I should do? Our other dog is fine.....my poor baby, i'm so worried about her right now....

| I have been checking her gums, and they are nice and pink, and she has drank a lot today. Should I see how she does tomorrow, and then call?

| I'd take her in....blood could very well mean her intestinal track is very irritated. She needs something to sooth it and help her heal. Your vet will do a fecal exam to rule out parasites. Is her tummy gurgling, have you taken her temp. If it is below her normal, that is an indication of enteritis.

| Well with the vomitting and diarreah...I'd definately make sure the vet sees her in the morning...if she continues through the night ER may be in order.....Keep on eye on her gums, pinch up her neck to check for hydration.

| Question? Why was Giardia your first thought? And you brought up Parvo.

| To be honest, I'm not really sure. I associate PARVO with puppies, and of course I"m reading stuff, so that's not good, but I just don't know what else it could be, ya know? I know she didnt get into something she shouldnt have, and we have a stray cat comming around, and I'm hoping our yard isn't infected or anything, guess I'll have to wait to find out....

This is the first time she has ever been sick, she is a very healthy girl. She does like to eat the cat poop, which I haven't seen her do in awhile, and I yell at her when she does, so maybe it's that. She is all up to date on vaccines as well, hopefully it is just a little stomach bug, and we will be fine...thank you for your help and concern....
