What a terrible tragedy. I'm so sorry! I send heartfelt sympathy to you on the loss of Stanley. Poor baby. I don't have any advice on the owner of the german shepard, but he is certainly liable.

I am so very sorry for your loss. My deepest sympathies. If I were you I would get myself some legal advice. That German Sheppard is a hazard to not just other small dogs but children as well. The owner should be held responsible. That is how we get responsible pet owners by making them RESPONSIBLE for what their pets do.

Anytime a dog mauls or kills another dog, the owner of the aggressor is obligated to the owner whose dog suffered -- no matter what size or breed of dog is involved.

Nothing can replace your Stanley, but you should be compensated. Talk to animal control and a solicitor.

I am so very sorry. Nothing can replace your baby but get legal advice what can be done. That GSD is a hazard, if he killed once he will most likely do it again.

I would just like to say a big massive thank you to you all, I intend to get in touch with the dog warden to see what he says and I have also found a solicitor online that specialises in animal law. I will let everyone know the outcome.

The owner of the German Shepherd said that he would get rid of it, but my neighbour has said that he still has it, I have not been out the front door with my other two, Posy and Sidney I'm too frightened, I know this isn't fair to them but I really am petrified, they have been out in the back yard only.

I have now picked Stanley's ashes up in a little casket.

My husband says that he should be made to pay for the price of Stanley but no amount of money can compensate for the horrific and traumatic death of my stud muffin, it is taking me a while to write this because I am so upset about it, every time I think about it or try to talk about it, I am just devastated, I can't eat or sleep properly and I know that my other two feel it too because at the moment they are quieter than normal.

I wil keep everyone informed of the outcome and the advice that I am given from the dog warden and solicitor.

Once again thank you to you all for your condolences and advice.

Oh no,.what a horrible thing to happen and I'm so so sorry.....Can't help on reporting but want to send my condolences .....the image you'll carry in your heart and head has to be just awful

Hopefully in time you can smile remembering how much you loved him and he you but right now I know that's a long way off...poor baby
