My poor husband is having the worst fathers Day. Daisy is a Daddys girl most of the time except when she is sick she stays close to me.

She goes everywhere with my husband that is his little buddy. She even sits in the recliner with him at night.

I'm so sorry that this is the news I read today. A specialist is the way to go, and I've already PM'd you with my opions on this so I won't regurgitate it here. I am still hoping for good news soon.

The vet just called and Daisy's lvls dropped again
AlT is 600
ALP 1300
yeah!!! :D

They said that they are concernd that she is unable to keep her food down and we suggested that I boil her chicken and rice and bring it to her.
So I am going to put in some zuchinni juice;) as well. We are going to visit her.

I feel bad that I didn't stay for the family pic nic but my Daisy needs me and I know that is important.

pray that she can keep the boiled rice and chicken down.

I asked what they were feeding here and it was the hills ID food.

Wow, that is a significant drop, YAY!

She will probably feel more like eating with her mommy there. Good luck, and hugs to all.

I hope Daisy will improve soon. I know how stressful it is for all. I used the Care Credit for Pixie's recent LP surgery and was able to put her 2300.00 bill on interest free payments for 12 months. I think most ER clinics accept them. It is really easy to apply for, they usually will do it with you right there and you get an immediate answer. It is such a good thing to have on hand.
My Cali is on Atopica for severe allergies and had bad IBD. I didn't know it was also being given for IBD. Cali has had almost no tummy problems since going on it so maybe it works.

i would do the cod it is highly digestible - you can get it at costco in frozen section and no rice I would just do zucchini and cod right now so she can digest the protein real well. The liver needs to have highly digestible protein right now and chicken will be harder to digest

I'm so happy for you that you received encouraging news! Daisy will be so happy to see her mommy, and I pray she will be able to eat and keep her food down.

Ask your vet what they think about using Mirtazapine. This is an antidepressant that works well with dogs that are sick with no appetite. It is an antiemetic, anti nausea and also an appetite stimulant. I had a very sick renal failure pup who thrived once he was put on it. Also, Manolos mom used it with great success on Lola.

I think it needs to be given cautiously with liver issues, but can be used. I just don't know with Daisy's reactions to meds if it would be ok but certainly worth asking about. Your vet would know best. I just know that it is like a miracle drug in dogs that are unable to eat.

We took Daisy her home cooked food and she scoffed it up;)
I had to help her slow down. She was so excited to see us.
We took her for a short walk and spent an hour with her and she seemed pretty happy except for the face that she kept crying to go home.
She would beg me and then beg Fred. We were able to calm her down and give her some good TLC which did both my husband I well.

The vet just called and it has been 2 1/2 hrs and she has kept her food down. Usually she had been throwing up within 1 hr of eating.

So continue to pray that she keeps her food down and that her lvls go down more tom.
It was so hard leaving her:( I think it did us both good to see eachother though:)

awe she looks GREAT. So glad her and her daddy had some time together today on father's day. So glad she kept the food down. I am hoping she gets to go home in real soon:)

She looks so happy. Continued prayers for her. Hoping she will be even better tomorrow...I bet your visit and home cooked food did lots for her morale! :) I swear they do better when family visits!

I'm just reading this, how awful Daisy and your family are going through this. Our best wishes that she continues to improve, eats well and goes home soon.

I'm so glad to see your update and the pictures. Thank the Lord she's keeping her food down! I will pray she continues to do so and gets to come back home really soon! Your hubby looks so sad and concerned in the picture. I'm glad you all got to spend time together today and I think that's just what Daisy needed...some TLC! Hugs to you!

I'm so thankful that Daisy's levels are down and she was able to eat. Those pics of Daisy and her Daddy are precious! I'm praying she'll be back home with you soon. :)

Daisy won't eat this morning, they said that she won't even touch her food.
I feel like I am on a rollercoaster of emotions. I get hope it gets taken away..
I am so upset. I am wondering if she is feeling depressed bc she misses us.

It should be interesting what her lvls are today, I am praying that they still drop.

She broke my heart last night, she wanted to go home sooo bad she just kept crying for the door.
The funny thing is she didn't bark once and Daisy is a Barker.

I just want her home.
When I got home last night Pixie wouldn't stop sniffing me and she kept running around the house looking for Daisy. Pixie misses her chew toy:p
she doesn't have those soft fluffy ears to chew.

aw i'm sorry she won't eat by herself. I saw this a bunch of times when i worked at the emergency hospital. They just wouldn't eat for us, so their owners came in once or twice a day to try to feed them homecooked food. Usually the dog will eat for the owners once they've gotten over their excitement of seeing you again. Is there a way you can go there this morning to try to get her to eat before they take blood to check her levels?

Have you discussed with the vet the possibility of bringing Daisy home at night and returning in the morning?

I hope the tests return good news today and that her levels continue to drop.
