Joyce, it's so good to see pictures of Daisy. How sweet of Pixie to take it easy on her older sister. My thoughts and heart are with you and I pray for Daisy's full recovery. |

sam-e and milk thistle are in denamarin you have to be careful with sam-e though as it should not be mixed with drugs like tramadol so maybe separate out and probably why vet had her on milk thistle alone instead of denamarin Tramadol |

glad she is doing better :) |
Just checking in on Daisy...and you too, Joyce. I will check back later, hoping to see good news. Hugs to you! |
update Daisy is still keeping her food down we talked with the specialist and they said as long as she is keeping her food down (home cooked) Than to keep feeding it at this time. They want to consult a nutritionist after Daisy is onto maintenance. Now is not the time bc all the concern is at this point is that she keeps food down and the denosyl which will help take care of the liver. We asked was her liver so far gone that there was not much hope for survival and they said absolutely not. I felt better after talking with the specialist and that I have to believe that they are doing what is best for her. We need to all pray that her ALT levels drop and that her liver cells repair. I will keep everyone updated....this has been a rollercoaster of emotions and I am so tired. I did come across this on the tick list site and read where it says 2007 update : I found it interesting that the doxycycline seemed to cause reactions in the poodle breed blackgsd: treatment |

I agree the liver can rejuvenate so if anything goes wrong that is the best one to go wrong where as pancreas and kidneys not so good when the time comes I recommend Holistic Veterinarian Pet Nutritionist Holistic Pet Care as susan davis has done an amazing job with everyone I have seen her help including the woman on here recently under thread about hypoparathyroid/lymphangiectasia/ple. That was quite a fiasco but he is doing better now. You can follow his story and see what happens as she just consulted with susan davis and i can give you names of others as well you can talk to and get their take on her. I think if it were me though and being liver I would just feed dr dodds liver cleansing diet if you can home cook as i have seen many dogs do well on that for many years on liver shunt mvd groups. |

I was just thinking about you and Daisy. The specialist sounds wonderful, and I'm so glad Daisy is holding food down. I loved your Why I Love Daisy post, it brought tears to my eyes and made me laugh at the same time. :) Sending her more get well hugs. Bonny |

She did perk up when I was cooking her food for the week;) I let her and Pixie lick the bowls. They thought it was the greatest and they didn't even fight. I took her outside for a short walk and it was only like 10 min and that was enough. She actually pulled for the house. I did notice that she isn't drinking as much as she had been in the past. I am going to crush up some ice or just go get myself ice water. lol |
