| They ate 1/2 # pencil ! I know they don't use lead in pencils, anymore, but I came home to find 1/2 of a #2 pencil chewed up...The other half was still there...I'm sure they shared it...The vet is closed, and I just need to know if anyone has experienced this, and what to watch for? They're running around like nothing is wrong, but I'm very concerned...I don't want to subject them to the charcoal and all that goes w/it, in the emergency room, if it's not necessary, and I'm thinking that it's probably already passed their stomachs, anyway...Apple ate an eyebrow pencil, once, and the vet did the charcoal, and before we got home, she'd chucked it all up...Anyone??? |

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | did they actually eat any part of the pencil or did they just chew on it? the graphite isn't poisonous but if there are large pieces of the pencil missing they might be sharp and could puncture the intestines.

Phantom Queen Morrigan Donating Member | no i don't think there is anything you can do at home besides watch them for signs of stomach pains, vomiting and/or lethargy. you can call the emergency vet and ask them what you should do

| Well, from everything I've read, from the past, on here, they should be o.k., as long as they don't have any issues passing them...All I can do is just ask you guys to pray for their safety...I believe in the power of prayer...And of course, I will be watching their next poopies, which will be in the morning, because they've already done their evening poopies...Thanks for the answers, and thanks, even more, for the prayers... |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | I had one of mine chew on a pencil, but she didn't eat a lot of it. She was fine. Hopefully they chewed it into small pieces first. I will keep them in my prayers.

Prayers coming from us too. Jada ate a popsicle stick too and we didn't have any problems. DS left it laying on the end table last summer and I about had a stroke.

I know what you mean about men, I live with 5 of them and not one seems to know how to put anything in the trash. On the counter, the table, the chair, in the sofa cushion, but not in the can. By the way there is one in every room. | |
