| 3 Month old yorkie fell on the floor :( Hi Everyone, New to this forum and under unfortunate reasons. I have a 3 month old miniature yorkie, we were both sleeping and when i woke up, i didn't see she is on the blanket, i turned around and she fell down to the floor. She didn't at all cry or made any noises, i believe she was in a coma for a couple minutes. After a couple minutes she moved and showed a sign of life, couldn't at all move her head which was leaning to the side. I rushed her to the vet which gave her a vaccine (i was in a shock and can't remember the name of the vaccine), and said all looks fine and to see how she is later today. It has been appx 16 hours since she fell and she did get up for a little bit a couple of times but even when she have, she was nothing like always, very quiet, confused and weak. She vomited 3 times today, barely eaten (and i made her chicken which she would definitely eaten with pleasure any other day. I am extremely concerned, i would appreciate any feedback on what else can i do, is it normal that after so many hours she still is so weak? Thanks in advanced for your help, Alesa. |

| Do you have some Nutrical you can give her or if not, some Karo syrup? Is she drinking. These tiny ones can dehydrate quickly. |

| Hi - I'm so sorry to hear about your baby's accident. They're so little - it's really scary when anything happens to them. Weakness, loss of appetite, vomiting & diarrhea are not good signs. Please take her back to the vet right away.

| If you have a syringe you can get her to drink more because she'll have to swallow it. I use that with my puppies when we're on long car rides and I know they should drink more.

| I was thinking the same thing. Did she possibly hit her head? I really think you should call the vet back and explain how she is acting and see what he says. I'm surprised, doesn't sound like he did much.

Donating YT 4000 Club Member | Did they give her a vaccine or did they give her a shot of decadron (a steroid) to reduce swelling? It does sound like she is still showing symptoms of a concussion. I would take her back in to the vets tonight. It sounds to me like she may need to be observed over night, and possibly be given IV fluids to prevent dehydration and hypoglycemia. |

| i think she should have stayed the night too..im surprised they sent her home i had a puppy this happened too..and they gave him a shot (steroids) and kept him for a couple of days i would think they would have instructed you (after she had been kept a couple of days) to keep her confined and in a dark quiet place to recover will little interactive except some love and food and water and any meds they prescribed |
