Hoping it passes quickly (GI issues of which I think I know the cause).

So, who wants to send the pups to a sitter and take a vacay with me???

A vacay??? What *is* that? I have a distant, foggy memory of what those are....very, very distant.....:p

It was either too much food at once or GI upset from licking something she wasn't supposed to (in this case, Desitin). It was such a small amount that toxicity was not a concern and there was no need to induce vomiting. So I dunno. She may be getting better now, but I'm afraid to let her out of the playpen and have her do her thing all over the furniture. Never a dull moment...

I'm ready for a vacay! 1 teen-age son; 1 88 year old father; two dogs; 1 stressful job . . . . Calgon take me away.

She had several diarrhea episodes today and it is sooooo light (light brownish approaching yellow or gray) and watery. Kinda lethargic. I thought she was okay, but she did it again a couple hours ago. It may be a trip to the vet tomorrow.

So sorry she is sick again. Wish you could get a really long break.

Weird light colored poo is strange. That's what happens to people after food poisoning, light poo and dark urine.

here is info on color of stool- grey is tied to pancreas and she has pancreas issues so that would make sense

this may be what is going on - what are you feeding as it may be going through the digestive tract too fast as it is highly digestible food

Yellow stool can indicate that food is passing through the digestive tract relatively quickly. Yellow stool can be found in people with GERD (gastroesophageal reflux disease). Symptoms of GERD include heartburn, chest pain, sore throat, chronic cough, and wheezing. Symptoms are usually worse when lying down or bending. Foods that can worsen GERD symptoms include peppermint, fatty foods, alcohol, coffee, and chocolate.

Yellow stool can also result from insuffient bile output. Bile salts from the liver gives stool its brownish color. When bile output is diminished, it often first appears as yellow stool. If there is a greater reduction in bile output, stool lose almost all of its color, becoming pale or grey.

If the onset is sudden, yellow stool can also be a sign of a bacterial infection in the intestines.

uh me - dh just left to visit his family in ohio and i am here taking care of the dogs - we take separate vacations now loll so we can take care of the dogs. How sad is that :(

I wouldn't be surprised if it is her pancreas, but that always shows up as vomiting, so it's not my first thought.

Definitely could be the diet. She has to eat so much to gain weight too and that just may be too much for her (it's tuna, rice, and cottage cheese).

I can't tell if she is just really tired right now or if it's lethargy. Getting really concerned now. It's 1:30 and I guess I'll have to stay up with her for most of the night.

She isn't pooping now, but her tummy is unsettled...

Aww, poor Ellie. Give her kisses for me. Don't you hate it when they are sick? It breaks my heart b/c they are just so darned cute and innocent... ok so the latter, not always ;)

As for a vacation... I am ALWAYS up for one! :D

Ahhh...no....

How is she doing today? Could it possibly be the tuna, maybe too much?

Don't think it's the tuna because while this diet doesn't exactly agree with her, she has been on it for awhile and it doesn't do this.

Diaper rash (she has taken to peeing a half hour after we go outside, so she has to wear a diaper...no way around it).

oh...does it work? Roxy has a recessed vulva AND she is a mad pisser, constantly peeing and peeing, so her private is always wet. I am trying to keep her hair trim and dry, but doesn't always work, so that area is red. I wonder if I use some of the desitin on her if it will help with the wetness :rolleyes:

get the duoxo wipes it has chlorhexedine in it to kill bacteria. Derm has me wiping dd vulva twice a week with them

You can use Desitin on the irritated area, but it has to be covered so she can't lick it. So easier aid than done.

does desitin work for bacteria in the vulva fold?
