that stinks girl - i feel so bad for you I had a horrible easter a few years ago with dd with hives and dex vomitting and i hate when they get sick over a holiday weekend as not alot of options That is good you know how to do subq's though. I do not know how to do that - hope i do not have to ever do it- is it hard ?

Unless (God forbid) one of your pups has a kidney issue, you probably will never have to learn. No, it's not particularly difficult. Thankfully in our situation, holiday weekends aren't a big concern...

Just hoping it's not her pancreas...again.

cool as i do know they offered it to me to do with his vomitting episodes for ibd and pancreatitis so who knows i may if he ever gets sick again but i am trying like crazy to never let that happen again

I know you have your nutritionist but have you ever thought about consulting with susan davis as a second opinion as she has helped a ton with ple and pancreas and ibd issues. She uses a lypozene product which helps so the pancreas does not have to work as hard it is digestive enzymes. I have a discount I did not use yet and Elly said her dog is liking the purina ha i sent her so she may not need it. Just a thought but know you know your stuff just thought i would throw it out there as i met her a week ago and she seems very nice and i thought i would consult with her too about dee dee just to get more info on home cooking as i know it would help dee dee but not comfortable and do not want to borrow anymore trouble as need a break lol

Susan's recipes don't appear to meet AAFCO guidelines, so they are not balanced for long-term feeding. She may have some ingredient suggestions, but we are so limited (on protein that I'm willing to handle especially) and I can tell what Ellie's intestines will and won't take just by observation. We don't get into a whole bunch of supplements simply because I prefer western medicine and not holistic, etc. When a good number of vets who aren't interested in holistic products start to notice something good is on the market, then I take notice (i.e. probiotics which btw don't seem to work for her or not to any great extent anyway). If she needs digestive enzymes, we will likely go right to the most trusted by vets (and likely most powerful), Viokase. And I have some concerns about recommending the raw diet for liver compromised dogs, etc. She has done an awesome job helping many YT'ers, but it just isn't for us.

no problem just thought since she has helped so many maybe she could help your baby as i feel bad she keeps getting sick with pancreas issues and the ones she has helped do not seem to be having any issues anymore

But some of them are back on commercial food which Ellie's nutritionist has told me not to do at this time and the ones who are on homecooked have recipes with no guaranteed analysis...

yeah they can get EPI from having chronic pancreas issues that is not fun so i hope she does not have that

the lypozene is suppose to help digest the food so the pancreas does not have to work as hard. If she has EPI she will have to be on digestive enzymes
