| Chance is much improved this morning. That Crisco treatment was a God send. Chance looks so good this morning most of that thick crappy scaly skin has flaked off (his bed is covered with it). One of his ears had chunks of that crap come off and I can see his ear canal Wha-hoo! Many of you have asked if the Crisco & Saran wrap is to rectify certain skin conditions. The best I can describe per my sis ( prior dermatology assistant) is that the Crisco is a super deep moisterizer if you will to get down deep in the epidermis of the skin for MANY different skin conditions. Any animal or person can use this. ( I want to try this on the heels of my feet) The skin actually gets warm with the saran wrap on it and it has some action to contain the crisco in the skin. Just a FYI if you try this.... I asked my sis about putting a t-shirt on him last night and she said as long as it is 100% cotton. I will feel really good when he can get his ear canals treated with anti-fungal and be flushed. ![]() Foster mommy to Chance |

| I have heard of it for the heels of the feet. I just was confused as to what it was used for on him...I guess the dry skin on him? Glad to hear he looks better today!

Oh, I do miss Cody. He was my baby boy. I do have wonderful memories of him that sustain me...he was a sweet little guy. He did not know what a toy was when he came to me and once he learned about them look out! He had his favorite little squeaky soccer ball and the world would stop if it got lost....we had to go on an Easter egg hunt until it was found. I love to show his before and after pics because it does show what total GEMS you can find in shelters! I look forward to seeing your swan!!!

| The sulpher lime dip really works, but it stinks, and I mean stinks bad. I went through a ringworm infection last Nov and Dec after I adopted a kitten for an animal shelter here in GA. The stink is so bad, in fact, that after treating my pets the night before, showering and shampooing my hair that evening, and again the next morning, I could still smell it in my hair all day at work. My big cat had reacted negatively when I tried to dip him and got the dip all over my bathroom and me, and remarkably little on him. Here are a couple good sites I went to, the second one addresses ringworm in the foster home: Dermatophyte Treatment in a Nutshell | Dane County Humane Society: Helping People Help Animals and Information Sheet - Ringworm (Dermatophytosis) You absolutely deserve a medal for taking Chance, your heart is so good, and the shelter was very kind to hold him long enough to get him into rescue, most would have euthanized. Ringworm is just awful in a shelter environment. I really applaud you for your big heart and willingness to work to help this dog. Not many people would be willing to go through this. I can't wait to see Chance cured and a happy little dog. Bless you.

One of our kids got it once from playing with barn cats while on a trip. It healed to a point then got stubborn, so I was told to also use Tea Tree Oil and have her eat pumpkin seeds. I am happy to say it worked!

| Hi Everyone...here is an updated photo of Chance sorry it is dark (camera phone) but here you can see him in his PJ's taken this afternoon. It has been a little chilly today (so much for living in sunny CA) so I want him to stay warm and comfortable. Having trouble getting some other ones uploaded they are too big...but if you can see look at his ears today..... no elephant man crusty crap on his ears. The Crisco took all that off.....I will put before and after photos what a difference after just 2 days here. I love this little guy..... foster mommy to Chance |

![]() I am really considering doing just a apple cider vinegar bath 2x a week like was mentioned with Cody's mom and just forgetting the lyme dips altogether. They said the purpose was to stop the spores from dropping off and since his skin is cleaning up with all the dead material falling off already they may not be necessary....we will see. I am not going to lie this Chance project is very time consuming..good thing I work at home and I have been sick myself to boot... but it will be worth it in the end when YT supports this little guy to being as you said a "cured and happy little dog." I sometimes think it takes a village like yt to raise a yorkie LOL Foster Mommy to Chance | |
