He doesn't like to share his toys though! He politely takes it and looks at her like, "Um no, that's mine."

Even with a slight limp, I know that the surgery removed the pain from his hip. I can live with a happy healthy dog that may sometimes hop on 3 legs.

Thanks for the update! I am happy to hear that little Cooper is beginning to use his leg. I think from here on out you will probably see more improvement. Sometimes it just takes time. I was told with one of my boys who had surgery on his leg for a nasty fracture that he might limp for at least a year.

You are SO right....the surgery was done to stop the pain and that was the most important thing!

I think the vet was very honest with me. He said point blank, he may never walk without a limp, but without the surgery within a year he'd be so painful you coudn't have touched him.

What was so funny...he taped up his good leg to see how he'd do with the other leg. He literally walked on his two front legs until he got out of the tape. We were all speechless, the vet, his tech and myself.

He's running, playing, jumping....he even jumped up onto the bed the other night.

Miss Lily, a little 2.2 lb Bsoton, will likely end up being his best medicine. I have pictures on FB, can they be uploaded to this site?

Oh, no doubt, he would have been in terrible pain. I had a yorkie come to me with it and he was older....no one had done the surgery for him and he was in pain from it for all of those years. Just so sad. After the surgery it took time, but he did very well.

Yes, they do adapt and use their front legs! I have a little one who does that often. He has leg deformities in his rear legs...had surgery on one, but sometimes if he is in a hurry, he walks on his front legs. I have him in my avatar in a clown costume that I put on him this year for the YT Halloween contest. Teddy Bear got an honorable mention!

Nope, sorry. Cooper weighs 6 lbs though! He didn't gain any from the last vet check.

She is just so tiny!! Cooper was almost as big as he is now when I got him. He's grown a bit and put on a pound or so. I always thought he was little.

He is just SO happy when another dog is around. It can be my sister-in-law and her big chocolate lab, my daughters 8 lb maltese or little Lily. Now if I just stop him from taking the toys and eating her food.

He's always been willing to share food before.

My husband is the Boston lover, he's always had one. I have to admit, I love her too. She's so ugly she's cute!!

hahaha yeah...those little smushed faces are cute! I have a friend who rescues Bostons...they really are cool pupsters!
