| ![]() What a relief. I am sorry you both had to go through this, but I'm glad the vet was able to catch it in time. Good of you for listening, too. Head injuries are very serious and affect everyone differently. I would watch for the seizures, though. One seizure from a head injury can result into a lifetime of seizures. |

| ![]() Even if you can't get to a vet right away, at least call one and see what they say. It definitely sounds like a concussion. I'd imagine it would be similar to a toddler having a concussion, which even a mild one can be worse than you think. My two boys have had several. One on my youngest had a long recovery. He had bad headaches and vomiting for about 3 weeks. And I had a car accident nearly three weeks ago and I only stopped having some of the concussion symptoms a few days ago. And my concussion was considered mild but I was really stunned at some of the confusion I had, dizziness and headaches that lasted so long. Definitely watch him very carefully. I'm not an expert on dogs, but I do have a lot of medical background, and the trouble with any head injury is you can't really tell just from observation how bad things are. Remember Natasha Richardson, the actress ... she had what seemed to be a very minor head injury and she ended up dying. Not trying to frighten you or make you feel more worried, but he definitely needs to be checked out. Please keep posting about how he's doing!! Wishing the best for both of you. |
