| Your vet should have given you something to take home. Some just don't though. Aspirin is sometimes used, but it really is not recommended. Can you call the vet in the morning?

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Joey had a reaction to the pain medication, it made him hyper, and so I didn't give him any after the second dose. I called the vet about a replacement medication, and he said he probably wouldn't need anything, as it had already been 24 hours. He actually slept better without the pain medication. By the third day he seemed fine. Don't let him jump or use steps, and I wouldn't use ice, but a heating pad set on low might be nice, you could give him the option to use it or not. Joey seeks out my heating pad.

| I gave Apple pain meds, the first night she was home, but at 4 a.m. the next morning, she was just acting toooooo weird and very unhappy and restless...I took her off the pain meds, and she felt much better...I think you're little guy is going to do just fine w/o them, since you're going to make it through the first 24 hrs. w/o them...Apple & Buzz send yorkie kisses for him to get well real soon |

| Good. Every dog is different and each reacts in a different way. IMO, when cutting a dog open, it is not right to not give them relief.
