Joey had a reaction to the pain medication, it made him hyper, and so I didn't give him any after the second dose. I called the vet about a replacement medication, and he said he probably wouldn't need anything, as it had already been 24 hours. He actually slept better without the pain medication. By the third day he seemed fine. Don't let him jump or use steps, and I wouldn't use ice, but a heating pad set on low might be nice, you could give him the option to use it or not. Joey seeks out my heating pad.
