Linz, What great news! I am thinking about you, Scott, and Layla often. She is making good progress and I am sure she will keep it up. She is a determined little girl with an equally determined mom. I am sure your dreams are predicting good things to come. Keep up the great work. Way to go little Layla and Lindsey. |

1 Attachment(s) Thank you all so much, once again! We are going to get through this :) It still hurts me a little to come here and see all the happy, healthy, playing yorkies, so I'm trying to just stay in this one thread. I will get back to them I know, but it's hard to stay positive when I get to thinking "why me? why us?" I joined a group full of people caring for IVDD dogs. They know their stuff. They told me to be VERY STRICT with crate rest for the next 8-10 weeks, so that's what we're going to do. She will only be out of her crate for acupuncture, range of motion exercises, and pottying. Then of course, the college will be doing her exercises and water therapy 2 or 3 days a week as well. I know she is going to hate crate rest, but it's the best thing we can do for her right now. We are also looking at buying her a stroller so we can take her out for walks and she can still enjoy the warm weather with us. I found a cute one online where the compartment detaches and becomes just a carrier, which would be much easier to transport her in than her big wire crate! Here is a picture of her waking up from a long nap this morning at work, and sticking her tongue out at me :) |
Oh God love her, she is such a precious little girl. I'm so thrilled she is making progress...the little stinker, she's a real fighter. She is so blessed to have you both and all the love you have for her. Don't give up, she is on her way back to you. You all are quite a team! Keeping you in our thoughts and prayers. |
I just love her face, she's one tough little girl, like her mommy. |

I'm certain it is hurtful to see active and healthy yorkies, but please remember lots of us have dealt with both sick and old yorkies, so we understand how you must be feeling. There are also lots of us who have dealt with sick, young yorkies, too. So, please don't feel alone. None of us knows what tomorrow will bring. Layla is precious in that picture sticking her tongue out at you.:p She's the prettiest little girl! A stroller would be wonderful for her and the detachable compartment would be wonderful. Carrying the crate would be difficult for sure. I hope to someday see a miracle with pretty Layla.:) |
awwww Layla is just a DOLL!!! Great idea to get a stroller, sounds like it would be very helpful to you guys and to her. Crate rest will be hard for that long of a time, but if it's best for her, its a good idea to stick with it! |
