I have sort of made an appointment to visit someone on Saturday morning to do Reiki healing stuff on Lay. I'm pretty skeptical but I think if nothing else, she might be able to make me believe Layla is healing and getting better. I need that belief in my head so I can be positive around Layla.

My parents are going to come visit tomorrow night to help out. They are leaving on Saturday. I told them about Layla's acupuncture but I'm hesitant to tell them about this healing thing. I think they will think I'm crazy. Maybe I am? :confused: :(

Acupuncture today went well... she electrically stimulated a couple of needles down her spine, and some in her leg. She was quite angry with the needles put in above the point where she has feeling. She was twitching and pulling away her foot when the needles were inserted, but still making no effort to turn her head or show that she knew what was going on. With the reaction she gave to the other needles, I know she didn't know anything was happening with her feet.

:( My poor baby. I know these things take time. I just wish there was a little glimmer of hope, or a slight sign of improvement somewhere.

Oh my gosh, I have a friend who is a Reiki master and did Reiki on my dog one time. He was soooo different for a short time afterwards, calm and more quiet. I also one time brought him to this pet store to get his nails done and the woman was very much into pet healing and calming. All she did was clip his nails and I think she used some oils or something, she spoke quietly into his ear and pet him very calmly and soothingly, and he was sooooooo calm for awhile after that it was funny! I had Reiki done a few times by my friend and another time by this woman who was sooo good at it. I felt sooooo much more leveled when I left there. Reiki clears bad energy. More than likely it won't heal her, but maybe it can clean her energy and her chakras and give her the strength to heal herself. I totally believe in Reiki! :)

Thank you for the Reiki review! I've never had it done, nor have I known anyone who has had it done. I know my ex boyfriend's grandma practiced it, but that's all!

I did a little research on them but didn't find a whole lot, so maybe she can explain it to me better when I'm there.

Look up 'Chakras' .... Reiki is about clearing them out, taking out the bad and replacing it with 'white light', almost like clear out the bad and start new. Like your throat is a chakra and some people don't speak enough. So a reiki master can sense the back up and they clear out that chakra, encourage you to speak up more and help you let go of the regret that you didn't say those things when you should have. It allows you to start over essentially.
The Reiki master I saw was an Angel reader too. It was so weird how in tune she was with me. She hit the nail on the head with soooo many things. I was in a relationship at the time that I was thinking about leaving and she didnt know that at all... she told me my heart chakra was too full and that I needed to get over the pain of the past heartbreak (10 yrs with an ex fiance and we split) before I could give myself into a new relationship and that she knew I was thinking this 'new' guy was not for me and she said I was right and to go with my heart. I broke it off (I knew I needed to) and met the pretty awesome guy I'm with now almost a year later. I spent the year alone working on myself and trying to get over what happened to me. She was great. I keep saying I need to go back. My friend went to her and felt the same way, so alive and awake and renewed and clear. She was thrilled with this woman.

The woman was running her hands down my legs (not touching me at all) and I was wearing jeans. I had a cut on my leg that really hurt but she had NO idea about that. When she got to that part of my leg, she stopped and said something like she sensed pain right there and it was exactly where the cut was. Kind of crazy! (now I'm sure I sound like a nut!) If you can have the reiki done on yourself while you are there..... I'm telling you, if it works for you, you will feel so much more clarity, hope and positive.

Thanks for the info! You know, your post just reminded me that my old roommate's boyfriend does this type of thing as well. She had a bad scrape/cut on her knee (from baseball) and he worked on it for a little while and within a couple of days it was totally healed up. The same sort of injury usually took her a month or more to get rid of.

The woman we are going to said that she could do a half hour or an hour on Layla, but she thinks it would be best if we let Layla decide how long she should be worked on. She said that animals are usually very receptive to her energy.

I told my mom tonight that I was doing this for Layla and she didn't think I was crazy at all! Thank goodness. I feel a little better knowing I am getting support from all around.

Oh, and as luck would have it, I pinched a nerve in my back after work tonight. Scott is the only one left standing in this household :(

Hang in there, all this stress is getting to you. Rest your back, maybe get a good massage. Have a glass of wine and relax. Know that a lot of people have Layla and your family in their thoughts and prayers.

Sorry! Believe me, I would love to be posting instead about me and Layla going out for an evening stroll! But Layla can't stand, I can't stand, and it's been snowing outside lately anyway!

Maybe in a few months I'll post about a nice evening stroll!
