Little Roriee has opened my eyes to a lot these past few days. | You and many others would be shocked at the number of not only yorkies, but chihuahuas, maltese and poodles in rescues anymore. Just last week I had to turn down another yorkie boy surrender bc there are just not enough foster homes. Fortunately I know this boy will still go to a rescue, just not breed specific.
Most of the dogs in rescue while not necessarily considered senior dogs, are at least several years old. Rarely are puppies found in reputable rescues, and if they are, the puppy usually has severe medical issues.
Little Roiree's thread is heartbreaking but hopefully she can find some peace and comfort now that she is getting medical attention. Also, because of Roiree I do think more people have become educated about rescues and what rescues face everyday trying to save these precious dogs. |
