I have asked them to let us know the names of people and their contact information so that, at the end of the year, they can get a statement for tax purposes. If you do not wish to have that statement, then just tell them not to give us the information.

What all of you should know is that at any time you call one of our vets you may find a zero balance. Many of the specialists require money up front for things of this nature. Our members pay these bills and wait for reimbursement. THAT is why it is not really the way to donate...but, since you insist, there you go. :) It is nice of you to want to help Roriee.

I also suggest that you take a look at our 990s that are on Guidestar to see exactly what we do spend from year to year to care for yorkies/yorkie mixes in need. :)

Randi has surrendered Roriee to the care of Yorkie Haven Rescue. This is the route that Randi chose and obviously she felt comfortable doing so. I don't understand, why, if this is what Randi chose, should the rest of us still be bickering about it. It is beginning to look to me, as an outsider that some of this is nothing more than a personal attack against YHR or some or all of the people who are involved in the day to day operation of this rescue. Should anyone wish to donate to Roriee's care, they must do so through YHR.
Either do it or don't. It has been explained that this is the way it is done. None of the bickering does any good to Roriee or to Randi. I can't imagine how I would feel, if I were Randi reading this after I recover from my surgery, with all this bickering. Randi has made a very difficult decision that I pray that I never have to make. The rest of us should be backing her up on the decision she made and supporting it 100%. She has given Roriee a chance at life, is that not what we all wanted.

Thank you very very much!!! I wasn't trying to be difficult. I just don't want people to have my name, address and all that personal information or how much I donated. I Just want to help, I wasn't worried about where my money was going per-say, just my personal info..

Thanks again. I will be watching for updates. I hope Roriee isn't feeling any pain. That is what is tearing at me right now. No dog, or person should have to endure so much pain.

As for Randi, I have talked to her numerous times and I know exactly what she wanted and I have been behind her 110% through this whole thing.

I will leave it at that and I will honor the wishes of Linda and Ann and leave this for updates and well wishes only.

With that said, my love and support go out to Randi today and of course Roriee...

Roriee Update
 

So far, Roriee is not responding to the medication. The biggest problem right now is her comfort level. She is still screaming whenever she moves even the slightest bit.

The neurologist is not sure if this is pain from the AAI or something possibly related to the GME, perhaps behavioral. He does lean towards it being from pain.

Humane euthanasia is being discussed but we want to be absolutely certain that we have done everything possible to help her.

The plan for today is to complete the infusion of cytosar this morning. We asked about a body cast to see if that might make her more comfortable until we can see if she will respond to the medicine. We will then give it another 24 hours to see how things are going. Sometimes it can take a couple of weeks before the medicine will show improvement. The only way we can have the luxury of that time is if the body cast helps her comfort level.

I personally heard her screams the other day and it was horrific. This is one of the saddest things I have ever encountered.

I know you all are praying for Roriee. You are all total angels for what you have done...the response to her has been so overwhelming to all of us. Thank you is not enough to say for what everyone has done. Your support in so many different ways....kind words and everything is just so appreciated. :)

I totally understand. You can request that they not give us your contact information. We will know the amount because we will be paying the bill. But...let me also say that $1 is totally appreciated. We often have a $1 fundraiser on our website to let people see the power of a dollar...how they add up!

As for Roriee....we will not allow her to remain in pain. You will see that on the update I just posted. :)

I still have a glimmer of hope that Roriee is going to get better. Please everyone, say a prayer for her.

Thanks for the update linda .. my heart is very sick just reading about her pain, I can't imagine seeing hearing this pain.
Just a question: this medication that she is on, does it usually work immediately? or some sort of time delay before it takes effect?

No one would want to see the little dog suffer and be in pain after all possibilities are explored. Still hoping for her, and hoping the meds kick in. But if not, at least we know that the best of efforts were giving.

Myu wife left early today for a business meeting in MI. I gave her the latest update, and she instructed me to make a donation to all of little Yorkies. She was especially PO'd when she say a few of the little ones were 15 and 18 years old. You know, it feels good to donate, and so what, we do not go out and eat this weekend, but it will help! A Hotdog will taste just as good as a steak!
