| colitis We just got back from the emergency vet and Pann has colitis aka a swollen colon. My poor baby is so miserable the docs said he's either gonna get better or really worse. they gave us meds and instructions for a bland diet. if he gets worse like vomiting blood or pooping blood I'm to bring him right in. I'm so upset and scared please pray for my baby! |

| dwerten is very knowledgeable in these cases, she gave you very good advice. Don't worry about your little one not wanting to eat his reg food. As he gets better, wean him off the chicken & white rice by adding some of his kibble. I like to add the warm water that the chicken was boiled in, they love it.

| Thank you both for the advise and kind replies. Pann is doing much better today, and he's only had one dose of meds! He's not a big fan of the rice so I'm going to have to try to mix in a little bit of the broth to help him eat it. |

| I hope he gets better soon. It's upsetting, I know, to see them sick.

| I had one dog who refused to eat rice and was always being put on rice/chicken as she had a lot of stomach issues... I would just add water after it was all mixed to make it almost like a soup and then she would eat it! Good Luck!

| Yes that's how I'm mixing it Pann just really doesn't like rice for some reason. I give the pill with his food it's the only way he'll take it. I can't wait till he's better all the way and so rice isn't strewn threw my house, our other dog gets a little too b/c she's jealous and she gets it everywhere!!! |
