| Sydney's bandages were removed yesterday afternoon from both legs. It took my mom, the vet, and me to hold her down. She was in pain. I think her pain pills are working, though. Last night and this morning she wouldn't take more than two steps. Now, she's all over the place and knocking a ball around with her cone collar. The back legs look like chicken wings, but the doctor said she healed nicely. The surgical tape removed some skin and the vet gave me some antibiotic ointment for it, but he said she's doing well. Thank you for your prayers and concerns. I will keep you all posted on her progress, but she's doing very well. |

| It has been two weeks since the stitches were removed. You would never think Sydney had gone through double knee surgery. You can barely see the scars. Her hair is also starting to grow on her back legs. Right now, it looks as if she is wearing a pair of furry boots because the hair on her back feet is still long. We still aren't letting her loose on the bare floor. That area of the house is gated off so she can't slip. We did go for our first walk at the park since the surgery on Saturday. I carried her part of the time, but she did very well. We still don't let her sprint far or jump off the couch or bed. Jumping is off her things she's allowed to do from now on. She will also be returning to the groomer's this Saturday. I'm so glad to have my puppy back! |
