I'm currently taking Ted to the Animal Specialty Group in Glendale. They are a great facility and very thorough and caring. I hope he took his little buddy there. Ted's peeing like a maniac on the prednisone, but he said his little one hasn't drank. Hope he finds help and comfort at ASG. xo |

Just wanted to send good thoughts for recovery for your little angel. |
Thank you everyone for your support. Update : I called the place that dwerten refered me to and I think I'll bring him in to see the doctor on Tuesday if it doesn't get any better. Because honestly he's flopping ( lack of a better word ) around as if nothing is going on. I called my emergency clinic that I took Ash to and they said that the urine leakage is probably caused by the medication |
Glad he's doing better. Get instructions for taking him off the steroids as you can't just stop them they must be weaned off. Very important. And, yes, the prednisone is a major pee producer. In any emergency I would take my dog to the Glendale Specialty Group as opposed to any other ER. I spent $800 at ER just to be referred to them in the end; so you might as well start there. Good luck! |

do not go off the steroids without dr instructions but i doubt you are as your dog needs to be on steroids if neurological to get inflamation down- as long as they felt by phone it was not an emergency then i would hold off until tuesday - i usually call specialty hospital and they walk me through it all and if it is critical or not so glad you did that |
Let us know what you find out. We're all thinking of cute little Ash. Take care...:) |
A sign of hope : I was scratching his belly and he started to do a little movement with his paralyzed leg |

That is good news!! maybe you should massage it to help stimulate blood circulation. |
Update : He can move his leg back and forth now instead of dragging but his paw is still flipped upward. I've been massaging him gently everyday since the first day just to keep the blood flowing His trying to urinate normally but he can't lift up his paralyzed leg and he can't stand on it so he's just urinating like a female at the moment :clapsmile:clapsmile:clapsmile |

I give him 1/2 twice a day for 4 days then 1/2 once a day for 4 days and 1/2 once a day every other day until it's gone Tomorrow will be the last "full pill" day |
Well we just had a 4.4 earthquake [ that woke everyone up along with Ash ] and Ash was just running around everywhere barking. He's landing on his pad more now :) |
I'm so happy for you, it sure sounds like he's improving! Thank you so much for giving an update. I'll continue to pray for a complete recovery. |
