Dogs that jump hard or play hard can rupture a disk in their backs and cause this kind of back leg dragging. It could lead to permanent paralysis in some cases. Did you go to an ER hospital with specialists on staff or did you go to your general vet on an emergency basis? |

here you go this is the neurologist my friend is seeing and my friend is director of respiratory therapy at our local hospital so she knows her stuff and she really likes this person alot and this facility Stacey Sullivan, DVM I just called for you they are open 24/7 but stacey is not in until tuesday but they have orthopedics on staff as well so you will get some answers between orthopedic and neurologist :) and it is off colorado blvd real close to you - hope this helps your little one - sorry you are going through this :( |
I have no suggestions, Just wanted to say I'm sorry that he is going through this and I hope it all just clears up on it's own. The fact that he has feeling in the pad is good. Good Luck' |
It suddenly just struck me really hard and I have to admit that I'm sitting here crying :( |

give them a call as sometimes it is cheaper during day than evening so i would get on it and at least talk to them over the phone and they can have you talk to internist or doc on staff to see if it is critical if you get him in there today or can wait until tuesday. They sound very nice and i told them you would be calling and what was going on :) |

I am SO sorry. It really is scary when they are not well....and especially so with things that we are unfamiliar with. Know that you have lots of good, positive thoughts coming your way...and also prayers. :) |
I watched the video. I feel so badly for you both. Whatever it is, I hope you are able to get answers soon. If this is some sort of temporary paralysis, keep in mind that hydrotherapy is wonderful. Perhaps you'll get some answers soon. |

Cool! I first heard about it many, many years ago when someone brought their doggie in and gave him to the vet, because he had paralysis. The vet took him home and worked with him in the hot tub. To make a long story short, the dog was rehabilitated. Lucky doggie! Alaskayorkie has a video posted somewhere in the video section, too, of Eddie going thru hydrotherapy.:) |
