| Dogs that jump hard or play hard can rupture a disk in their backs and cause this kind of back leg dragging. It could lead to permanent paralysis in some cases. Did you go to an ER hospital with specialists on staff or did you go to your general vet on an emergency basis?

| I have no suggestions, Just wanted to say I'm sorry that he is going through this and I hope it all just clears up on it's own. The fact that he has feeling in the pad is good. Good Luck' |

| no don't cry hang in there - call this hospital and see if they can check him out today and review the xrays and maybe they can call stacey or they have a neurologist there today that can do initial exam but let them know you want to work with Stacey - maybe she comes in on emergency situations. I would at least have him seen today by them as they are all specialists there with further education in vet care and many of the internists are sharp to at these facilities even if out of school as they learn newer technology and techniques as well - hang in there I know the feeling i almost lost my yorkie to pancreatitis and it all happened so fast - yorkie prayers are amazing so hang in there we will help you Last edited by dwerten; 03-13-2010 at 03:32 PM. |

give them a call as sometimes it is cheaper during day than evening so i would get on it and at least talk to them over the phone and they can have you talk to internist or doc on staff to see if it is critical if you get him in there today or can wait until tuesday. They sound very nice and i told them you would be calling and what was going on | |

| I'm sorry your baby isn't feeling well. I know how terrifying that is. But, you need to stay strong for him - these little guys can sense our feelings so easily and he'll know if you're scared. Get yourself together, call the neurologist and get your baby in as soon as possible. Send good thought and prayers to you.

I am SO sorry. It really is scary when they are not well....and especially so with things that we are unfamiliar with. Know that you have lots of good, positive thoughts coming your way...and also prayers.

| I watched the video. I feel so badly for you both. Whatever it is, I hope you are able to get answers soon. If this is some sort of temporary paralysis, keep in mind that hydrotherapy is wonderful. Perhaps you'll get some answers soon.

| Cool! I first heard about it many, many years ago when someone brought their doggie in and gave him to the vet, because he had paralysis. The vet took him home and worked with him in the hot tub. To make a long story short, the dog was rehabilitated. Lucky doggie! Alaskayorkie has a video posted somewhere in the video section, too, of Eddie going thru hydrotherapy.
