| Help my Bailey ate a lindor truffle I heard a ruffling and I checked on Bailey and she was eating a lindor milk choclate truffle! I got the foil away from her and called the vet who was out on a farm call, but the office girls thought she would be ok but will ask the vet when he gets in, I also called the poison control center for pets and he did a calculation and said just to watch her but I am scared has anyone else had such of an experience i feel like such a bad mom! |

| Is it dark or milk chocolate? And how much does Bailey weigh? Dark chocoate is more dangerous but I'm not sure what is inside truffles.

| Lola ate 3 hershy kisses on Christmas morning, thank god she had no ill effects. Lola is just under 6lbs. Just watch for a behavior change. Christmas morning I drove 20 minutes to the 24/7 ER, waited 30 minutes and paid $143.00 to find out she was going to be okay. The vet said some dogs don't have an allergic reaction to chocolate.

| I think at the most she may have an upset tummy but I am NOT a vet. Do what your vet suggests. Personally, if Tatum (but she is 5.5 lbs) ate one of those, I would wait it out but please, you do what you feel comfortable with.

| it does take a fairly large amount of theobromine, about 100-150 mg to be toxic to a 15 lb dog. I'm going to guess a lindt truffle to be about 10 grams each which would be .044 grams of toxin. The theobromine info I got off my "toxic to your dog" chart. I haven't done that math in a while but I hope it's right. I hope this could put you at ease until you hear from the vet.

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Hopefully Bailey will be fine. It is always a good idea to have hydrogen peroxide on hand if the vet tells you to induce vomiting. Last night I accidently gave one of mine the other ones medicine and I induced vomiting and she threw up within 10 minutes.
