OMG the burn is horrific...I wish I hadnt looked, Ive heard what can happen but never seen. My heart breaks for this little baby. I cant imagine the pain she must be in. I hope she heals quickly. I know more groomers are getting away from the drying cages, they are horrible. |
Pain Meds... 1 Attachment(s) Several asked, and just realized I hadn't replied - Yes, Chloe is on a couple different pain meds, antibiotics, silver.. cream, pepcide type medicine for her stomach. She was at emergency vets for 2 days starting Mon when the shakes started, my friend noticed what looked like a rash on chest Sun night and said to me Sat after she returned from groomer, that they must have clipped a nail too short as Chloe was favoring a foot and immediately ran upstairs to go to bed when returning from groomer. The emergency clinic admitted her at noon Mon for dehydration, fever (the burn looked like only a hotspot at that time). They immediately admitted her and started IV's, antibiotics and asked the owner (my friend) if she wanted them to resuscitate if it came to that - as I said, it's not been a good week! But I have to say thank you to all for your support - I feel better which in turn will help my friend when I talk to her again tomorrow. Have attached a pic of my crew...my best friends...have to give them a shoutout after being on the puter for hours. |

That poor baby must be in pain! I think that the groomer should pay the vet bill. Quote:

Oh my gosh that is just terrible. The poor baby. Sending good thought that this baby recovers from her injuries. I hope the groomer has learned to watch drying dogs from now on so this doesn't happen again. And I agree these driers should not have HI setting. |
The owner of that poor little one is better then me. I have to be honest, if that was my dog and someone did that due to their irresponsibilitity I'd probably at the least beat the sh_t out of them. I'm generally a pretty forgiving person but not in this case. I'd be out for blood. Elaine |
Oh I am so sorry for this poor baby, I litteraly bawled seeing its tummy, this is heartbreaking that something like that happened. I am glad they got her on all the meds right away, the silver cream you mentioned may be something like which is used on humans.....silver sulfadiazine...it is marvelous cream and is used extensively in hospital burn wards. I will be keeping this little one in prayer. I sent you a pm as soon as I read this. Just recently January 3rd, I was taking a pan of scalding boiling water off the stove and it accidentally came back onto me scalding my stomache, area size of a saucer 2nd and 3rd degree burn, our Dr. was concerned at first about the abdominal wall but thank God it was okay. It really was slow in healing and took up till this past week for the skin to be forming and it still looks red but is healing. That Silver sulfadiazine is absolutely marvelous. My heart is so sad for this baby and from the looks of the picture you posted am sure the surgery is needed due to abdominal wall most likely being affected. Prayers for the little one and also the lady. I know when this little one gets to go home from the vet it is going to need lots of clean bedding, please would you let me know in a pm where I could send something for it. I was just going through some of my fabrics earlier and have some very soft that would work up for that.I really would like to do that. Thank you. Hugs from us both, Patti and Jack and Girls. |

I am sorry to hear that you went thru a burn yourself. What a tremendous heart you have to offer soft bedding for little Chloe - you are an angel on earth and bring tears to my eyes. Huggs |
I had never heard of cage dryers until now. This is unbelievable! I pray this little one does not get an infection and recovers completely. I can't imagine how they didn't hear anything while this was occurring. My heart breaks for this baby. These cage dryers should be outlawed! |
