Oh wow, I have never seen anything like this. Poor baby. I am glad the groomer is willing to pay for all the bills... but still, is pure negligence! :( |

OMG! I knew the dangers of cage driers before this and pay extra for a groomer who refuses to even have one on her property. But I honestly had no idea HOW dangerous they could be and that symptoms might not show up right away!:eek: I'm still in shock and yet I THANK you for posting this info! Many people don't know the dangers. You are probably saving the lives of many dogs with this thread. Poor baby! :( :getwellso |
I am so very sorry for everyone involved. Looks like a case of shere negelence to me. I will keep the little one in my  and :hands:. Please keep us updated on little Chloe's progress. |

Oh poor Chloe, I am heartbroken just looking at her picture, I cannot imagine how your friend must be feeling. We'll be keeping your friend and Chloe in our thoughts and prayers. :( |
This is terrible. My heart breaks for that poor baby. Imagine the pain,....that dog HAD to be barking, scratching, yelping...something that should have alerted someone while it was in that cage. And what is so hard about drying them the regular way? To me this is just a lazy and obviously dangerous way of doing it. The groomer I use doesn't have a drying cage...but thank you for alerting everyone about this. Prayers going up for that poor baby and for the owner....and for YOU for being there and being supportive for them. |

Oh My God ! Those are terrible burns ! :(:(:(:(:( that poor sweetie - trapped in that cage with no one paying attention while she burned terribly is horrible and very negligent on the groomers part. They KNOW how dangerous those dryers are. It sounds like he feels really bad but man....that should NOT have happened ! No matter how busy a groomer is they should never ever leave a dog unattended ..... and anyone who sees this needs to remember it if they ever go to a groomer who use them. To me it\'s the lazy way to dry pets and dangerous ! Hand held dryers are safer and even then - people have to be careful I felt sick seeing that :( BIG HUGS to you and your friend and I truly hope she\'s going to be ok ....she must be in so much pain.....those burns look very serious.:(:(:(:( |
Ok... thats all I know about burns is that my 15 year old carries two big scars on his leg from a dirt bike muffler burn from last September. I know dogs/kids aren\'t the same however...we did silvadene cream 1% and gauze dressing 3x a day. Most important thing about burns are they are real prone to infection. My sons plastic surgeon told me if I neglected to keep the infection at bay, we were looking at skin graff surgery. so needless to say...I opted for keeping the burn very clean. Burns heal slowly. I changed dressings for 6 plus months. My son was a good patient and would shower off before I changed the dressing...we did this 3x a day in between work/school. But, it has healed nicely and he does have scarring...but its much better than what could of happened....Burns are horribly painful...I can\'t believe they could not have heard the poor dog crying for help....my god...I feel horrible |
OMG--that poor, poor, baby--------I pray she heals well. My heart goes out to her owner. I cant even imagine what i would do if that happened to my baby |
Thanks to everyone.... for your concern. Please pass this far and wide, feel free to crosspost...many as I, had no clue what could happen to our little ones while we entrusted them to be bathed and groomed and the problem would not present itself for a day or 2. There appears to be no regulation or oversight and anyone can hang a sign, after paying for the annual business license fee. I will certainly keep you posted after Chloe\'s surgery Tues. I am going to talk to vet and ask that he keep her for a couple days...as my friend is too overwhelmed with it all. I chose Boston Terriers because of low maintenance because I inherited my mom\'s BT and also had a maltese...it was toss up between a BT or Yorkie to add to extended family after my maltese went to Rainbow Bridge. BT\'s are low maintenance as far as grooming...so I don\'t have groomer issues to worry about, but as with all breeds, there are other issues. Many Thanks Again....and I am still reading all posts and suggestions. |
Holy cow. i hope that baby make a full recovery. why or why did I click on that picture. i feel sick. Can\'t imagine seeing it in person. OP you are a DEAR friend to be doing the hard work and research for little Chloe\'s owner. ETA: I didn\'t even know about cage dryers as Uni has never been to the groomers, so I for one have learned something today. thank you for starting this thread. |
Oh Good Lord! That is just heartbreaking! My heart just dropped when I opened that picture. I will be praying that this surgery helps and is not too painful on this poor baby |
Horrific! Prayers for a full recovery and for the mommy. ~Joanne~ |
