homecooking can be a bit complicated and time consuming; but you just have to make sure you are giving all the required nutrition and what's best for your dog. you can check this site Holistic Veterinarian Pet Nutritionist Holistic Pet Care for nutritionist susan davis; few people here recommended her.
also speak to a vet about a dog food for stomach issues or ibd; with lamb being the source of protein. this might be easier for you and might be the best for your dog.

ava used to be very picky and doesnt want to eat; and vomited frequently. i am still having a bit of trouble getting her to eat; but she eats much better than before; and she likes this food. and has only vomited twice due to empty stomach (she doesnt eat enough sometimes)
i do think ibd gets worst with age, especially if it started earlier and wasn't caught in time. the wrong food can definetly worsen it.
one of the sign to look for; is when the dog is feeling nauseated in the morning and refuses food.

well i have to say if they are on the right food they should be back to normal as dex has been great for 4 years now on purina ha but sadly some dogs will not eat it as the taste the vet said luckily mine like it and demi thinks it is a treat lolllll

This is exactly what was happening lately and she couldn't get comfortable and she would scurry from one place to another trying to find a spot to lay down and she would also sometimes shake. Then she would look up at me as if she was hoping I could do something so the only thing that helped would be if I gave her a Cerenia (maropitant citrate) that the vet gave us. But I dont want to keep having to rely on the Cerenia, I really want to fix what is causing this.

Zoe has been on chicken and rice since she threw up the other morning and she is feeling SO MUCH better now. No nausea or vomiting so far :xfingers: Even my sister commented on how happy she seems and how much more energy she seems to have now.

yeah the shaking is pain, the uncomfortableness is tied to pancreatitis as that is painful which can be triggered by ibd. Then if doing good on chicken and rice I would look into a homecooked diet where you can feed that and add some veggies in and a multi-vitamin supplement and bone meal

it is tough to homecook though but if you want a nutritionist many like it is this one www.askariel.com

Sorry for not posting yesterday......Zoe is doing very good and we are going to try a home cooked diet seeing as she is doing so well, providing we can get her to eat enough veggies and fruit (she has never been a big fan), but if not we will look for a lamb dog food. ;)

Dwerten, you are very lucky as I know that a lot of dogs don't like the special diet foods :p

Thanks guys for the nutritionist recommendations, I am going to look into them.
