Yep, that is what I was saying last night. I have had it happen. It is usually only a tiny spot....I was not thinking that he probably made it larger by licking. I am SO glad he is better. Yep...you can both sleep tonight! He is SO cute! A little yorkie lamp.

| This is why I love this site!!!! I am having this same type of reaction with Reesie's neuter incision and it's exactly what someone explained, a small little area, with a small cut on it. Im taking him in tomorrow to the vet anyway, but so glad I found this thread as I was worried!!!!! Thanks a million!!! Viv

I'm so sorry your little guy is going through this also, but just to put your mind at ease, within a few days JoJo's incision site looked much better and ultimately it healed beautifully. I kept the e-collar on him for about a week to keep him from licking it and gently washed the area with only cool water, followed by a generous application of Neosporin, twice a day. It was probably overkill, but I tend to be very overprotective of my baby (aren't we all? ) It's been about a year and a half now since then and it's practically invisible now, and there were no long-term effects of his infection.I'll be praying that Reesie recovers as well as JoJo did.
