| ![]() Do you know the percentage rates of liver shunt in yorkies: 1225% what does that tell you. The owner's are suffering because of the poor breeding practices on the behalf of breeders. In the long run, it's sweet people like Krystal that have t suffer the heart break for having to part with her baby because of uneducated breeds. Too bad our little furbies can't be considered member of our families. We treat them as one and care for them like out other children. |

| ![]() I am also curious if you have diagnose the puppy with an internal or external shunt via your phone call... how are you qualified to determine THIS puppy is not a canidate for surgery at the present time. As of the other day NO test were performed on this dog, the very STUPID vet didnt even tell her how to administer the food? 3 Days ago this girl didnt have medicine when were the tests performed? Yesterday Krystal was on line say the puppy was doing terrible. NO MENTION OF EXPENSIVE TESTS THEN?? So what expensive tests were performed since you have taken over this pets medical future!!!

| ![]() You're right, Jeannie. My vet won't even prescribe antibiotics for a urinary tract infection unless I bring Lady in. Still waiting for someone to tell us what tests Melody has had and the results.......... |

| ![]() It is so hard to keep reading this!!!!! You originally posted about her back in November, did she ever get the bile acids done????? Here is your post, Krystal from November 10th "I am thinking of just putting it on my credit card and taking her back in for the test. I am so scared and worried, I want to know what is wrong with her. I got Melody from a breeder and she does have a 1 warranty if it is genetic. I asked the vet about it being genetic and she said if it is a liver shunt it is genetic. So if it is I am hoping maybe the breeder will help pay for the vet. The vet even said she has done surgery on "tea cups" yorkies. And she said she would be worried to do any surgery on Melody cause she is so weak and fragile. Last night she was so sick looking, non-stop shaking. She only got up to drink and pee then went back to bed. She went pee then sat on the ground staring at it rocking back and fourth. I was so worried. Then she threw up and next thing I know she is barking at me and wanting to play. She was acting like a playful puppy! Today she seems the same wanting to play and be held. I am currently feeding her Taste of the Wild (which she loves) She is a real picky eater." This little girl does not look well in your pictures at all!, this is soooo SAD! I can't come back and read any more. I pray for the sake of your girl, that you get her help she NEEDS NOW! Sorry for yelling, but nothing seems to be getting through! How can she be let to suffer so long????? This poor baby ![]() ![]()

And, why are you confused about her having to surrender her puppy? She cannot afford this puppy, Kathleen. That has been obvious from day ONE. You have come in and made friends with her and she is being encouraged by you; and honestly I do wonder sometimes if you have any idea what you are saying. We keep asking about the NAME OF THAT EXPENSIVE TEST...why are you not saying? Are you googling to find something? Seriously? I am sorry....maybe you have owned as many yorkies as you say, but I would personally wonder if you have had any really sick ones. You are focusing on Krystal, not MELODY. Sheesh. Don't you see what you are doing? How many people have tried here to make you see this?

| ![]() I have been following this thread and I just want to say this is INSANE! Krystal... Kathleen... get the puppy to a rescue. Bonding concerns are nothing compared to this life or death issue. Get her in the hands of someone who knows what they are doing and has handled this before. This is not an issue that can be handled over the phone. I understand everyone has well intentions but all these well intentions are going to kill that sweet baby. Call a rescue, get it all in line, and Krystal do what is best for your little girl. It is in no way realistic to keep her. Deep down I am sure you know this. Melody deserves more will you please give it to her?!?!?!?!?

Oh please, don't try that. We all know whose fault it is this puppy has a shunt. If you feel so strongly about the breeder, why don't you or Krystal spit the name out?????????? We have all asked. Don't you want to protect OTHER yorkies from this???

AND MAYBE expose this breeder! And maybe she could help to educate people about how to find a REPUTABLE breeder!

| ![]() PERHAPS I AM MISSING SOMETHING HER, AND I AM GOING TO ASK THIS QUESTION FOR THE FINAL TIME, THIS QUESTION IS ADDRESSED TO KATHLEEN.. WHAT QUALIFICATIONS DO YOU HAVE MORE THE DR TOBIAS AND DR CENTERS THAT YOU CAN DETERMINE THE FATE OF THIS PUPPY!! I SERIOUSLY WANT TO KNOW THE ANSWER TO THIS AS IM SURE MANY PEOPLE ON THIS BOARD DO!!!! I KNOW OF NO VET LET ALONE A SPECIALIST THAT WOULD TELL YOU WHAT IS RIGHT OR WRONG FOR THIS PUPPY WITH OUT A EXAMINATION. FOR GOD SAKE I KNEW MY DOG HAD AN EAR INFECTION , SHE HAD EVERY SINGLE SIGN, MY VET SAID I DONT CARE WHAT YOU KNOW BRING HER IN. SO WHO IS THE SPECIALIST THAT SPOKE TO YOU WITH ALL YOUR EXPERTISE IN LIVER SHUT THAT GAVE YOU THIS ADIVSE??? All the test necessary to diagnose LS. Krystal's vet ran them and said with the medications and the diet, she will get stronger and surgery should be available if it's only one involved, if more then one... diet and medication only. I'm not a vet... we all know that. I just happen to love my babies and it would kill me if I have to surrender then for research purposes. It's bad enough these little ones have to suffer because of breeding problems and I know that the more they can learn the better off the breed. By the way, I assisted for a Thoracic/Vascular surgeon that handled only trauma case. I've seen the worst of the worst. Kathleen |

These are your own words Krystal, no one blames you for Melody having shunt if she has it. You came here asking for advice, and many options for her care have been offered, why do you continue to watch her decline when it is as simple as letting a reputable rescue take her? Think about HER
