ok, so the vet thinks she will be fine..she had some sort of bacterial infection in her poop so she prescribed metronidazole. She was very dehydrated so she received some fluids..blood work was perfect, no pancreatitis or anything like that.

thanks everyone for the prayers

now i just have to wait until she feels better..i hate seeing her like this..she still doesnt want to eat or drink poor baby.

I am glad to hear that you at least know what is wrong and are able to address it. It is hard to see our babies sick, regardless.

I switched her food because she was acting tired of her old food..She has been on innova before so I thought I could just mix it together for a few days and she would be fine on the innova..after the doctors Dx today though I dont think it had anything to do with the food. It was just a coincidence it happened at the same time.

Glad to hear Gizzie will be ok. The metronidazole works pretty quick on my girls.

My vet prescribed the same med (metronidazole). I'm little confused though. I was told this was a stool softner. If Gizzie was having diahrea, why would she need stool softner? I'm wondering if I misunderstood...

metronidazole is flagyl it stops diarhea - stool softener is lactulose i believe

Omgoodness, we just had this very same thing and diagnosis happen to us Christmas Day. We too went home with the same meds, plus amoxicillian and a prescription diet. It took a day or two before Mocha was 100%. Did your furbaby get a shot to stop to stop the vomiting? Glad Gizzy is doing better. Its so scary when they're sick and we don't know whats going on with them.
