I'm so sorry for you and your little Lexie. I hope that time will help ease your pain alittle. God Bless You little Lexie. |
I'm so sorry for your loss and understand your frustration. A client of mine went through the same thing with her Toy Rat Terrier girl. Anesthesia does come with its dangers especially for small dogs, but the benefits normally outweigh the risk. You were trying to help Lexie. |
I'm so sorry to hear about the loss of your beautiful Lexie . Sending thoughts and hugs to you and your family. |
I dont know if this has been asked already but what type of anesthesia did the vet use? When I took Cookie to get neutered I was terrified because he was barely 3 lbs maybe a 2.8 lbs. I read in many websites that they should use isoflurane and not a IV anesthetic. My vet at that time did not want to use it , he was used to IV sedation but I insisted NO NO NO. He seemed upset but used the gas instead. After that I took him to a different vet. I am so sorry for your little girl. I just dont understand what pain meds were given if she was not alert yet. Please understand that this was not your fault. It's true these things happen during surgery and I know that most vets feel awful when they lose a pet. My vet is very, very picky and cautious about doing surgery on any pet that is under 5 lbs. Gen You and Lexie is in our prayers |
My heart breaks for you. What a little gem Lexie was. This is a terrible loss. My vet almost lost Missy when she did her spay. Missy had been through 2 leg surgeries prior, and did fine...but she almost didn't make it through the spay operation. I'm terrified to spay Dora in a couple of months. You just never know what will happen. My vet has been the "top rated" vet in my area for the last 10 yrs, and I'm still scared! Big hugs to you and your family. I am so sorry that you have lost your little Lexie. |

What do you do if you come home and all your dogs aren't barking anymore and when She was here they were? |
I know when Jade passed the other dogs were weirded out for a long time. It took several weeks before they found their new normal. One even got so stressed she got a bladder infection. Maybe we could bring Ninja over tonight after you get home from work and that might perk them up? |
Just wanted to say that I am so very, very sorry for your loss. Sending hugs and deep sympathy..... |
My vet always does a complete blood profile before surgery as 2 of my yorkies have heart murmurs. I am so sorry for your loss, your heart must ache.......where are you located so I dont go there? |
I am so sorry for your loss. I still cry when I think about losing our Pepper. Can I ask how much did Lexie weigh? |
Sorry about the dumb question, but what exactly does the bloodwork tell them? How the heart is functioning? |
