Well I have to agree my experience was with me and not a puppy. I had some itching and a dry eye one day ( I wear contacts) so I knew that I could have scratched my eye. I call my eye doctor(opthamologist) who took me in the same day. He examined my eye and said what I had was very serious an ulcer with a viral infection in it. He said he was glad I came in right away. He prescribed the only cream (antibiotic/antiviral) I had to get it filled at the pharmacy near his practice that could work. He also said I might lose all or some vision in that eye! Pretty scarey stuff. But also it had nothing to do with contacts. It happened at least the symptoms did literally overnight.

So with eyes things can happen very quickly indeed.

I'm hoping that things go well. I will say based on what I went thru, if your puppies eye has not ruptured at this point, that's a good sign. I will say for the first couple of weeks I applied the ointment every 2-3 hours. I even set the alarm and applied it during the night. The vet told me just apply at least 4 times a day but the more the better and it wouldn't hurt so I made sure that his eye stayed moisturized. The doctor told me that he did so well in part because of the excellent care I gave which made me feel a little better as I felt guilty because when I first called the vet, the receptionist put me off and said just keep an eye on it. I was mad at myself because I my guy feeling was that he needed to be seen and I should've insisted. Anyways, I wanted to wish you luck and warn you that it is a long recovery and her eye will look pretty bad for awhile before things start to get better. I'm talking months here.... but good luck and I hope htings work out!

Thanks for such warm thoughts and prayers!! I must say her eye really looks bad, but the one thang that gives me hope is that she is still full of energy. I found out that the eye doc won't be in this weekend, so we have to wait until monday morning. If i was to take her this weekend they would have not been able to tell me know more then what Banfield has already said and did for her. Is there anyone who has taken the pet to Med Vet or OSU Vet hospital in Columbus OHIO?

This isn't any help, I know. But I took Maddie to the University of TN Vet hospital in Knoxville and was VERY please with how thorough they were. It took all of 2-3 hours but well worth the wait. They ran so many tests on her we were confident we had found the problem when we left.
I hope your experience at OSU will be as rewarding.:thumbup:
Still sending thoughts and prayers. I know how diffucult eye problems can be to take care of:(

So glade you asked! Faith went to the doctor to day, and it didn't go that well, but god has the final say. The doctor took some blood from her, and put it in a tube, we are to put 3 to four drops of her own blood into the eye. I don't know the name for this, but we are to do this for 3 days to see if her blood can help her eye to recover.

Sorry to say,they are going to have to takes Faith's right eye. The doctor said that the eye was to damaged to save. Faith is 14 weeks old, and weighs 2lbs. The doc wants to wait another 4 weeks befor he removes her eye. If there is any good to come out of this, is that she will still have great quality of life.

Im so glad you got her back and she is started on the antibiotics and ointment. Not sure why people are bringing up your old posts and all has nothing to do with the babys eye. so sorry they are doing that.

Im so sorry to hear this. poor baby. Im not sure where you took her but I know my vet hospital would charge a lot less to remove the eye if thats whats needed. if you want my vet info pm me.

yes! Please call me with your vets info. And yes some people on YT are very mean. Never kick aman when he down. I aready have beat myself up for this happening to my baby girl.
