Update: Dudley is doing better w/ the abcess the sore on the face is drying up and subsided. He was given 7 days of Clavomax (sp) once he is finished he will be going in for a blood panel and X-rays, THEN an extraction. The antibotic was given to reduce infection and prevent the spread of infection. PS- The ER vet said (on Christmas DAY) nothing can be put on an abcess or given and that nothing could be done to provide relief (at the time) for him scratching/rubbing his face against the furniture. Thank you all for your advise :) This site is the first place i turn to when i have a question or concern....Happy, Healthy New Year YT Once Dudley goes in I'll let you know, next year, (sounds so far away:D) PSS-Dudley is 4.5lbs, we are feeding him a little extra to "bulk" him up so when he goes in for the extraction, he won't loose so much weight, is this safe, I'd like to get him up to 5 or over? I didn't discuss this w/ vet yet, just doing it, THOUGHTS????? |
Is he under weight now ? If his weight is good don't worry about putting weight on him , you don't want him over weight for surgery as it is harder on them. He will most likely eat like a champ as soon as that bad tooth is out. Stick with soft food for a couple of days after, then he should be fine to eat his normal diet. |
