The Darwin's raw food we get ranges from minimum 7 to 10% (of the packages we haven't used at least) in fat content, at least that's what the packaging says...

I will keep your little Yoda in my prayers. It is so upsetting when these little guys are ill, but they are little troopers...hopefully he will recover quickly.

what about the treats and california natural ? and any high fatty food in human foods given? usually a reaction is within 12 hrs of eating something so what was eaten 12 hrs prior to first vomitting episode? it can be accumulative or acute though but that would be my first concern was 12 hrs prior

Wet (canned and raw) food is so full of moisture that the only way to compare it to kibble and get a real protein, fat, and fiber % is to convert it to a dry matter basis. So with the water removed, the % will be different. This (dry matter basis) will have to be figured for any food given to Yoda (if pancreatitis has been confirmed). Just a little FYI: Often when pups have pancreatitis, the liver enzymes will be elevated. Hopefully if Yoda does have pancreatitis they will stabilize when the amylase and lipase do.
I have had quite a few episodes of pancreatitis over the years with my own pups and my fosters and this was often the case.

I just saw this thread and feel so bad that Yoda is ill! I will be praying for his recovery. Poor baby. I know this must be so very scary for you. Hugs to you and yours. Get well wishes to Yoda!

Yoda is back home tonight, he's still a bit lethargic, but he was able to eat a bit. The vet gave us Royal Canin Digestive Low Fat LF. He is to get famotidine (Pepcid AC) 2.5mg by mouth twice daily.

He was diagnosed with pancreatitis, and Yoda got an abdominal ultrasound today that showed bladder and kidney stones. He got more IV fluids, medications for pancreatitis and pain control today. We will focus on the pancreatitis first, then see what the options are for the bladder and kidney stones. It would be very painful if he had to pass it himself, the other option the vet said would be surgery to remove them...

He is due back tomorrow for more monitoring, and hopefully tomorrow will be the last day at the vet during the day.
