Amputation?!?! That is not much of an option! Daisey will come thru just fine. It'll probably hurt you to see her like that more than it will slow her down! |
Amputation is an option if you don't have the means to pay the high dollars for surgery. I know, I had to make that decision last year. Moses broke his leg after I had him 1 day. Plating and pinning was estimated at $3500; I did not have that, even though I got the Care Credit card. I could not afford the payments, so my beautiful puppy had to have his front leg amputated. It's always terrible to have to make a choice like that. but I made it knowing he would be able to have a full and functional life on 3 legs and he does. |
Please let us know how Daisy does thru her surgery today. We'll keep our fingers and paws crossed for you and her. :) |
Sending prayer's for Daisy today. Hope her surgery goes well and she has a very speedy recovery. |
I was just thinking of you and Daisy, and sending prayers for a successful surgery. |
They rang and told us the surgery went well :). They are keeping her in for another night to observe her and let the drugs wear off. Thanks for everybody asking how she is. Ill write back here when we pick her up in the morning. :) |
Oh, that's wonderful! Thank you for the great update!! :) |
So glad to hear the surgery went well! Will continue to hold you both in our thoughts and prayers. |
I'm so glad Daisy's surgery is over and I bet you are too!......Glad things went well!....Give Daisy plenty of hugs ( but be gentle)....:) |
Great news!! Thank you for letting us all know! |
Yeaaaaa! |
I am so sorry to hear that. At 4 months my Kayla had a fractured elbow. It wasnt fun at all. She had surgery and had a pin and screw put in her elbow. Since then I had to remove the pin because it was bothering her. She is now walking normal with a screw still inside of her. You will probably have the option to put a cast or metal objects to keep her bones together and to heal properly. It will be difficult keeping her still with no running, jumping etc. also monotoring her side effects while administering her medication. I wish you luck and keep up your hopes,, |
1 Attachment(s) We've brought her back home this morning and we are very pleased with the surgery. She isnt in any pain with the leg and there is only a faint scar where the plate went in. She is quite happy just laying down resting at the moment :) Pic attached. |
Awwww!.....I'm so glad Daisy is doing so well! |
happy she is doing well after the surgery. :-) I'll keep my fingers crossed for fast recovery :) hugs to Daisy |
