15oz puppy bloody stool, not eating Sage is 6 weeks 4 days old ( I am his breeder ) he is just under 15oz today he was fine this morning but very tired today. Did not eat for a few hours and then had bloody stool.. No vomiting. Tried to put him with his mama-refused to nurse would not eat so I rushed him to the vet. NOT our reg vet, They were closed the vet did a parvo test-neg then a fecal also neg in the end they said he may just have an upset digestive system or any number of other minor things BUT he does not want to eat! They gave him flagil and told me to give him 1 whole CC of nutrical every 4 hours.. This seems like to much to me can anyone offer advice? I don't want to spike his sugar like that but don't know what else to do.

Here is the plan I don't want to make his sugar to high so I am trying to do the right thing. I got some jar baby food chicken mixed with water mixed with 1/2 CC nutrical. I'll feed him smaller amounts every 2 hours of the water and chicken but add the nutrical every 4. I'm going to pick up some rebound in the morning for him. Naturally if he has any sign of low sugar I will add more in and of course if he is any worse we will go to the emergency vet.

My puppy is now just over a year old and just last week again I took her in because she was refusing to eat and LOTS of blood in her stool. I about panicked as it was the 2nd time this happened. Fecal sample came back negative for giardia. THAT he definitely wanted to test for the issues she was having. He listened to the rumbling in her intestines and said she definitely has an intestinal infection, caused by what? NO ONE seems to know......I have her on Batryl once per day and he put her on 1mg Pred. Within 24 hours her stool was normal (otherwise it was extremely loose with LOTS of blood). She started eating probably 6-8 hrs after her first dose of the pred. She wouldn't even drink water before that and later in the day after the vet visit she did. ALSO, from day one of us having her she has gotten sick, so the final conclusion is that she has food allergies. I have her on Royal Canin (Venison & Potato). She cannot have any chicken, pork or beef dog foods. It was a long haul getting to this point. I had numerous blood work done on her and ruled out lots of things. The vet said some dogs have such sensitive stomachs and always have to be on meds which is not good of course. But hopefully for mine, the strict diet will help. I also give her 1/2 tsp. ORGANIC pumpkin with 1/4 tsp. DDS Plus Pro-Biotic 30 min before eating. GOOD luck with that little darlin and hope my input may be of some help.

I would post this in the breeder's section. There are many very experienced there. Also, if not sure I would bring him back to the vet. Good luck. Elaine
