| My new boy is hurt! My daughter was holding Gunner today as we were about to take him with us. He jumped out of her arms and landed on the floor. He was crying and yelping so loud. I was scared to death!!! I felt sooooo helpless. I immediately took him to the vet. They did xrays and said there were no broken bones but he might have torn some cartlige (?) He is on bed rest for 2 weeks and pain reliever once a day. I take him back on Wed. My daughter is so upset. It really scares me and I hope not to go thru this again. Please say a prayer for Gunner. Anyone else have any accidents like this or is this rare?? Karen (gonna be a Grandma tomorrow) |

| I will say a prayer for Gunner's (such a cute name, BTW) quick recovery I haven't had any injury experience but I can imagine its quite scary. I don't know how common it is, but yorkies being so small and thinking they are big they can definitly get themselves into sticky situations. Lots of hugs from Lucas too

| I am very sorry Gunner was hurt These little guys are so small and wiggly .Especially when they are excited. When Suzi was a tiny pup she nearly jumped out of my arms onto the sidewalk, I barely was able to catch her. IT haapens in an instant. These accidents are not rare. A excited little puppy will literaly jump out of your arms and accidents happen. Give your daughter loves of hugs and reassure her that gunner is going to be ok. How is Gunner feeling tonight? Try to keep him calm and warm. Make sure he is eating and drinking well, and keeping warm.

Tell your daughter that it could happen to anyone, and please don't feel too bad. I'm such an overly protective Mommy and even *I* let Missy get hurt. She STILL tries to leap out of my hands when I'm setting her down, only now I'm MUCH more cautious. Two hands are always firmly on my Yorkie, and I don't let go until all 4 feet are on the ground. They are such little wigglers. Sending Gunner lots of *get well quick* vibes. It is so hard for them to not be allowed to run around and play.

| Curly Mac shot herself out of my arms right onto the hard wood floors! I think it was our 2nd week home? She was teeny tiny, maybe 7 weeks old! Anyway, she screamed her head off and then cried real tears for a good 15 minutes after that. As SOON as she lept, I grabbed for her but she hit and I snatched her right up but it was too late. I thought sure it was over but she turned out just fine. I just held her close to me while she cried and I talked to her all sweet like I did my human kids when they got hurt and "poor babied" her until she settled down. It was so sad. Her snifflin' and tears rollin' and carryin' on. sniff. I hope your little one is ok. I bet it will be. |

| Our baby got hurt on Christmas Day when she was hopping through all the wrapping paper! She popped up like a kangaroo & landed on something & ended up ripping one of her dewclaws off. OMG she was crying so hard. I just cleaned it put some antibiotic ointment on it & put a very tiny little baby sock on her paw which I taped so it wouldn't fall off. She was fine in about a hour & licked her little paw for about a week. But it was very upsetting & it was her 1st Christmas with us. |

| aw poor little Gunner. Here's praying for a speedy recovery! I have to really watch my Mo. He is almost 6 years old and will just leap if someone is holding him and he sees something like his fleece blankie or bully stick. He is a little wiggle worm and I have to really be careful with him. Going to be a Grandma???

Donating YT 30K Club Member | Poor baby. Glad he wasn't hurt worse. It happened to me once but she fell on the lawn and was ok. I try not to carry mine around and when I have to I make sure I have a tight grip on them. Cali in particular will jtry to take a leap out of my arms. I also tell the vets/techs that they tend to jump so they know to have a tight hold on them.

| Yes ... these little guys are squirmy sometimes and they can jump out of your arms They are also very small and they're bodies can't take too much trauma but they do heal quick since he's a pup most likely the cartilage he tore is at a growth plate this is the cartilage that the long bones grow from kids have this too bad thing is if there is a lot of damage or if it doesn't heal correctly there can stunted growth in that bone

| Good thoughts coming for Gunner. Glad he wasn't hurt badly. They are like squirmy little slippery worms! It's hard to hang onto them when they squirm. Perhaps sitting on the floor and cuddling would be best so you don't have to worry all the time. I am sure Gunner will love that and your daughter too. Fell better soon Gunner, |
